These were just 100 ft drags at this event. He placed the 2nd fastest time, beaten just slightly by a Mustang that runs an 8 sec. 1/4 mile. He has to "hop" it to get it that high. It sure would make a Honda owner piss his pants at a stoplight though!! Tires were BIG Mickey Thompson's, not sure of the size. His regular "street" tires are 275/50/15 on stock gt wheels. Rear suspension has coilovers and custom lower control arms. Front suspension is pretty much stock.
There are 2 identical looking cars. This is it's "twin", presently running a stock 2.8L, but awaiting a Northstar install.
Both cars have a air-brushed Pegasus on the hood.
View of engine bay. Engine is carb'd with nitrous. 2 nitrous bottles are visible. Plans are to add a turbo (turbos?)

Wow! I can remember past threads saying that it was impossible for a Fiero to do that. I can't believe how high the car came off the ground. It should have wheelie bars.

It did scrape the exhaust tips, so maybe wheelie bars are in order. Troy's car has a full interior/dash even steroe with CD changer, so it's not "stripped" for racing, infact it's their daily driver "company car".

Troy Ritchie is the owner of T.R. (Troy Ritchie) Transmissions and these "company cars". He's done the mods on the auto transmission in this car as well as the engine build/install. He does not have a website, but I can pass along this information.

I'll ask him about posting his phone number and email address and include it later. I'm sure he'd welcome serious enquiries and possible sales, but not want to get swamped with a million questions.

Thanks for the T.R. information. I wanted an auto V8, but I have been a little afraid of it not holding the torque. If that tranny can take that then i'm not afraid of $**T! Thanks again.

Troy is running a 4T60 (440) GM front drive overdrive that has all stock chev parts other than clutches and custom shift kit. The tiger on his blue car was painted last winter. I've been beging him to do flames on my 85 GT auto cross car {its a beater}. Troy sponsors my efforts.
Hmmm... I've got a 440T4 with performance clutches and a shift kit , but I can't do that! Guess I must be missing something- oh yeah, 2 cylinders and gobs of mega-torque
Troy Ritchie went to the track Friday night to get some timed runs. It was quite cold that night, just above freezing, so the "track was cold". I don't know whether he was running "all out" with bboth stages of Nitrous.
His first run was 11.868 @ 119.28 (sorry, no video clip)
He still did a 13.4 Track rules require cars running under 12s to have a roll bar and some other safety equipment. Cars under 10s, a roll bar, fuel cell and more. He should also have a remote power cut-off on the car because of the relocated battery. I'm not completely sure of the specifics as my car will not be down there anyway Anyway, he was not to "hit below 12 secs on future runs until car is properly equipped".
For those who are curious, Calgary is at 3500ft elevation.
