i got one of them gm code reader from walmart but i dont know where to hook it to(the book says under the dash,but i dont see it).does anyone know where it hooks to?

Take the cover off where the cigarette lighter is and you will see where it plugs in.

On the Fiero , it's behind the cigarette lighter bezel.Remove lighter, remove 2 screws holding bezel in place , and it's right there.

Does it actually display the codes? Or just make the dash light flash? I don’t want to spend my money if it doesn’t display the codes.
