Dumbest thing I ever did.....
I had an 84' Couger that needed a new water pump. One part of the project was to move the P/S pump and A/C pump out of the way. Ford, god bless thier hearts didn't use "fittings" on their A/C pumps. you know, twist and turn andnothing can come apart. The just used little crimp-on doofers. I removed all offending bolts and gave a good yank on the pump and jerked both lines right out of the damn thing! Poof, no more A/C...Dumba$$!!!!
Ahh happy days, then I bought a Fiero

Okay. Dumbest thing I ever did was when I was working on my first car, a 68 Ford Fairlane. Wanted to put a different steering wheel on it. Was trying to get the nut loose. It didn't want to budge. I put one wrench on the nut and was whaling away on it with another wrench. Well, the first wrench slipped off the nut. When that happened, there was nothing to stop the "hammer" wrench before it hit my thumb. Learned how far I could throw a wrench, that day. I've still got the scar.

Dumbest thing Don't laugh.. I had a 82 AMC spirit with a iron duke I was changing the oil and doing a tune up. I got drunk and passed out under the car for hours in the driveway. I was just one dumb drunk teenager at the time.

I have had my fair share of stupidity, but not all with Fieros. My first car was a 1979 Honda Civic hatchback. One day the CV joint/axle failed. I got a new one and was putting it in......I had to remove a cross support bar (engine support) to gain enough access to get the axle out. While I was finishing up, I decided that I could wait to put the support bar in (I was late for something).....well, the engine (with nothing to really support it) sort of shifted downward as I attempted to drive away.......I had to lift the engine up and reinstall the support bar before I could drive it again.

With a Fiero.....there are many, but one that sticks out in my mind as being pretty stupid was a time when I was adjusting the timing or something. I was cranking the engine over by hand (with a socket and a ratchet) to get it at TDC. Once it was there I adjusted the distributor and hooked everything back up. I then proceeded to start the engine. Ooops! I forgot the ratchet! I instantly heard the sound of metal clanging and something hitting the garage door......I broke the socket and bent the extension bar, but luckily the ratchet and garage door survived unscathed.
