I was thinking that I should cut the ignition switch out of the steering column, and make it smooth, so I can install a push button start, with 2 switches for power. I am not talking about 2 inch long toggles mounted on the top of the gauge cluster. I mean a clean looking panel to replace the ignition key.

I was just wondering where I should put this panel? Should I gut the driver's side ashtray and put the switches in there?
Another thought is to hide them, under the dash maybe...

Any Ideas, whats been done? I dont want to lose the ashtray, but it is looking like the best idea so far.

JesterFox.

If you don't smoke, take out the cig lighter and put it there. I think it would look sweet and scare people if you have your hands down and the car starts. It you do smoke, put it in the plastic above the evironmental controls it would look good there also IMO.
