My 88 coupe rear facia has two openings for dual exhaust but I only have single exhaust.

I have always assumed that it is factory piece since its an 88 and I thought they would have trying to empty the parts bin by then.

I have alway worried that the car was wrecked and that piece replaced.

What do you guys think? Anyone else with this combonation?

All '88 Fiero car rear fascias have dual cut-out. 4-cyl just have single exhaust though.

When I bought my 88 coupe 2 years ago it had both cutouts for the exhaust, but only one pipe. It only had 27,000 miles on the car too. I have seen a lot of other 88 coupes wiht both cutouts. I believe they did it that way because they also made the Formula with the V6 and dual exhaust, so they made all the rear facia's the same to save time and money.

Yup, that's correct. Even the coupes had both cutouts. The 87 coupe fascia is identical, except it only has one cutout.

My 1988 Coupe has both cutouts and a dual exhaust outlet setup.
