Do any of you have 18" rims on your fiero? How do they feel & ride? I have an 88 Formula & want to put new rim & tires on it. I found the perfect rims, but I can only get them in 18" at a Great Price. Please LMK what you think? I haven’t lowered the car yet & I may not have to after 18" rim... Thanks.

Depends on the width and size tire. Many people are using 18s; try searching the forum for it. Most certainly an 18x7 or 18x8 with say anything around 225/40 will work.

Thanks for all the info. I can only get the full set w/45% Can I space the rears out? Do they make a spacer that will work? These are $900 a set, I'm getting them for $500. NIB

With 18x10" rears, I'm running 65mm offset. Should be just about right with the stock geometry (coilovers.) I may have to bring the suspension arms in a *twinge* as my math says I'll need exactly 76.1mm offset to make the outter edge of my wheel the same as it is now. (maybe not if I stick with the canted in 265 on the 10") My 18x8.5s with 265/35/18 are just about as far out as you want to get, I can't get my finger between wheel and fender at full travel. (use a springless strut to test!!!)
PS: you may want to use 295/30/18, keep the front/rear sidewalls closer together, with the rear still *tiny* bit more sidewall rubber.) 82.25mm front vs 88.5mm rear.
I eventually want to try as high as 225/40/18 front and 305/30/18 rear which would be 90.0mm, and 91.5mm, respectively. (will need something crazy, like 11 or 12" wheels. Fortunately I'm on a 996 Porsche bolt pattern, so the stock 18x11.5s from the Turbo will bolt on Dunno if I'll be able to fit them though, I may end up making some slightly (~1" or so) flared Fiero rear fenders )
Best! Ben.

Question: What offset should I be using on each end to keep the wheel centered on the bearings yet clear the suspension?

I thought about using 265's on the rear but I didn't like the "canted" look to them. I had nightmares aobut touching a curb!!! So I opted for the 295s on Yokohama AVS Sport (Stiff Sidewalls) on the 10 inch rears.
So, with Held's Coilover's I get some additional room but there is still the other bits under there... 65mm (or 76mm) should get them in there clear AND keep the weight correctly on the hub bearings?
I was mistaken on the front, they are 225 not 235 and are on a 7.5 inch x 18 rim. Are you saying that 90mm is the correct offset and will keep the bearing stresses in line?
Seems like a situation where you get as close as you can and then "guess"...

Hi Scott; I was using both offset, and sidewall height in mm up there
On the front of my car right now, I run 225/40/18 on a 18x7.5-45mm offset wheel and it's great. Perfect, infact. We don't need any bigger in front.
lol, yeah, the 265s sure are canted in! Makes for a responsive rear end, but as you said, the WHEEL protrudes (all F355 owners have this problem/thing-to-beware-of. Curb rash is common on 355s.) past the tire. I like a little of the canting, though not as much as a 265 on a 10" rim. How do the 295s fit, sidewall essentially vertical? Got any pics? Here's my 265 on the 10":
Pretty extreme!
Here's a quick fitiment pic;
Best! Ben.

You guessed it... virtually straight up the side, just a smidge of rubber past the rim wall but not much!
I'll have to run out and get a quick pic for ya!
By the way, did you see the MPGs I posted of my 3.4 TDC in action?
Not HIGH action but good enough to get the feel. I filmed them along time ago, you probably remember me talking to you about them back then? Anyway, they are done.
