Well I just finished redoing some electrical connections in the trunk of one of the two fieros that I bought for $80 this weekend.
I had to change out both battery cables and the starter. When I got it all done, I hopped inside and gave the key two clicks. I then checked out everything as far as lights, blinkers, headlights, wipers, defroster, yatta yatta, whole nine yards.
Now I know I've heard of people putting in a custom swith to turn on the radiator fan, or wiring it right to the igniton so it comes on at startup.. But, the previous owner had rigged the fan up to the Parking lights.
I found this really interesting.. You don't need any other swithes to be mounted in weird visable places or mounting locations. You can drive with it off, or if you want to put it on, just drive with the parking lights on. Its cool too because its just the parking light side, so the headlights don't have to be up. Just thought I'd share.
Can't wait to see what other kind of stuff I find on here.

I don't really understand the need for a radiator fan switch. Whenever it's hot enough for me to worry about the fan being on, the A/C is already on, so Viola' fan is going anyway.

Did you mean the fan is running directly off the parking light circuit, or is it just activated via a relay, from the parking lights?
A relay is the best option, there could indeed be a fire if it's directly powered from the lights. They take considerably less current than a fan, and therefore the wire is smaller.

Don't know who makes a 10mm wire set for the Fiero, but a lot of different ignition wires are available by the spool as well. So...you could just make your own set.
Tina BTW Let us know if you find anything else interesting in those new cars of yours.

I don't get the need for a manual fan switch. I put in the Rodney Dickman 180* Thermostat and corresponding low-temp fan switch. My car never runs over 200*, even in traffic in the summertime - with or without the AC on.

Manual fan switch is used if the cooling circuit is not working properly. This mod also would have the fan on anytime the headlights are on as the parking lights are on also. That just does not make any sense.

Magnecor makes 10mm ignition wires. I used the ones for Mustang GT on my V6. They have a 45 degree boot and you can adjust the angle on it, so you shouldnt have any problems in your 4-banger.

JnCommot- I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing but I was just going to have it on a manual switch in my cabin. How is it wired? Specifically.. Sounds like a really good idea...please let me know!

I don't know how its wired up yet. I bought the car as a deal and it had fried battery cables.. (the cap cracked off the started and arced I guess.. well thats what it looks like)
So I changed out the wiring and put in a battery. I just wanted to check to see if all the electrical worked before I took apart the motor and fixed it up. I'll let you know if its running off the relay, or the circuit or whatnot when I get a chance to look/take pics.

It's amazing all the things the ECM does behind the scenes. Did you know that when you turn on the A/C the ECM automatically raises the engine idle 1/2 second before it engages the A/C clutch?
