Okay, I live on a pretty bad street. My house is practically the gateway to the project apts. I almost had my Honda accord stolen once(i have a fiero now thank god!). Well after hearing all these stolen fiero stories, what I want to know is, do you guys recommend any brand of alarms to buy?

Heres my 2 cents..

My last 3 cars have had Viper Alarms. The Fiero alarm has never failed or false alarmed. (even in the harshest of storms. But if you touch it... It screams..) I've had it for just over 2 years & I love it..

I had a Clifford Alarm on another car (no cheepie one). I paid $600 for it. It would always go off. I got tired of it & pulled it out..

I've got 2 Alpine 8028s. Took some effort to adjust the sensitivity (cats), but I like 'em...

I use Code Alarms. been in the Fiero for 7 years, no problems. Put one in my Mom's Camary when she bought it new in 1990. Hasn't had a problem since. I've installed Vipers and Alpines, They both are reliable too.

I cant beleive no one has mentioned UNGO! In my eyes there are only 2 kinds of alarms, DEI which includes Viper as the high end and Clifford right under it as well as other brands. And then there is UNGO, which in my eyes is the best on ther market. UNGO is the company that owns Clarion, and all they put under the name UNGO is their alarms.

My alarm is a Clifford, it is pretty decent, but I do get quite a few false alarms. I have had my UNGO in a box for a while now and havent had time to put it in yet. For the money, the UNGO MS850 is prolly the best alarm on the market. For how inexpensive it is, it sure protects very well, and includes all basic features as well as a few extras. I should have gone with this but I went for a more expensive UNGO with a fancy scanner.. heh.

Thats my opinion anyways, and I think you will find that Crutchfield would agree with me, .... i think...
