Are you pushing the button the right way? It's a rocker switch and can be puhed up or down. In my car it works when I push it up. Did you try with the key in the on position? Is you car in park, or neutral with the emergency brake on? I think there is a feature to prevent the trunk from opening if these conditions are not met. Hope this helps, otherwise you might not have a good ground to the latch mechanism or a blown fuse. Good luck.

Thread on same subject right now over on tech side. I'm troubleshooting the problem also. What happens when you rock the switch downward? Does a light on the dash come on when the switch is pushed to release the decklid?

Please excuse me if this sounds stupid, but do you hear a "thunk" when you push the button?

The switch should only move in one direction (up, I think). If it moves freely in both directions, it might be time for a new switch.

Switch should only go up. If it goes both the rocker s probably busted. For a quick fix take it apart and use super glue. If you do this remember to be careful with it though.

open the trunk with the key and make sure there is nothing between the lock and the locking bar on the bottom.

The electric solenoid gets its ground from the latch on the body of the car. One time I was packing for a trip and closed the decklid on a pillow case and found that out. The trunk button would not work. I had to use the key, which didn't work very good at the time.

Make sure the solenoid is getting a good ground.

First, look near your drivers side deck hinge and make sure the wire connector is plugged in that goes up into deck lid. There is also a relay that sits in between the rocker switch and the lock release solenoid, but I forget where under the dash it is located. I saw the info in a search or in the Ogre's cave, can't remember which. The release solenoid won't work if it doesn't get fed by that relay.

Twas the switch. Took it apart today. Doug around in some of my junkyard findings and came up with a good one. All is well now. Never did find the relay. But it is working, wherever it is, because I have voltate on the solenoid wire. Thanks for the help.
