Hey, I dont have a fiero yet.. I have always been on the lookout for one. This past weekend I saw an 88gt at a salvage yard for $750. Get this, the car has 19,000 actual miles and the intior is in mint cond. The problem is it was rear-ended and the frame in screwed up. The estiment that I got was $2400 just in labor!!! ouch, I thought I would ask around and see what other people thought.

Welcome to the forum! I'd definitely say that $750 is good... but probably only for parts- especially if it's an 88! If you don't want it as a parts car- let us know and someone around here will nab it up!
It depends how bad the frame is. If its bent up so bad the car will never run or drive right, then it isn't worth much. If it can be fixed so it works good, it may be worth it. Is the rear suspension trashed? Or the engine? If these need replacing, your going to be spending a ton. If both need replacement, you are not gaining much by the low milage since most of the milage sensitive parts will have been replaced anyway. Its hard to make the call not seeing it, but the fact it is there leads me to believe it isn't worth the repair.
If you see it again, try to grab the VIN number and post it for 88 Database Guy. He's trying to get a record of all the 88's he can find and there status.

If it were me and i could get a 88 with 19k original miles on it, i would jump all over it!!! you can always get another fiero frame and switch them, as long as you switch all the suspension also. if its just the rear trunk busted up definatly do it, as long as the crade, suspension and engine arent damaged/damaged badly, it sounds like a good deal, especially with 19k miles, and if you can get a title/clear title that would be even better.
But if i remember correctly there are a bunch of members up in your area, i would have though that they would have noticed something like that in a yard by now.
Thats what I would do anyways... but try to get his price down to $500 .. you never know..

I totally agree, especially with the last two posts. I myself have two 88's. I bought an 87 parts car last year for stuff I need, and still made a little profit selling the other stuff, and it didn't even have the engine or tranny!. I would have made more profit if I hadn't given away things to my Forum buddies in need!

MrBungle- any chance of you emailing me the name of the yard it's located at? I can usually take a look at the car and make a pretty accurate diagnosis of it's condition and probably value.
