I don't remember the exact weight of the wheel/tire assembly, but it was right around the weight of the stock gt rims. But I think it was a pound or two more.
AkursedX: That car looks so nice! What suspension setup are you using?
Btw, I think I had your car as my desktop once too. Maybe if you could take a really cool picture under some trees or something at 1024x768 res or higher it would be even cooler. (Hint hint)

Geez, thank you for your compliments! And I know I do need to take some better pictures. I will once it's warmer out and I have her back on the road.
As for my suspension setup: KYB monotubes in the front KYB GR2 Struts in the rear Poly everything Fierostore lowering springs The rims are 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear with 215/45-17's and 235/45-17's respectively.
It has a harsh ride, but the handling is phenominal. I will be going to coilovers all around eventually, but not for two years. This year is the turbo 2.8 project

Hehe...um...ME TOO! I didn't intend on copying anybody, I was actually going to get some TSW VX1's, and opted not to because of recommendations from those "in the know" both on and off the forum. Here's what I got:
17x7 215/45 17x8 245/40 Konig Tantrums with Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires Fierostore front springs, and stock springs on the rear in that picture.
I also have rear KYB coilovers from Held Motorsports, so I can lower the rear about 2" now without any issues. The car rides fair (still needs tuning, swaybar bushings, lots of little things), but is getting much tighter since all poly, ball joints, and new Konis up front.
I only wish the car rode as well as the car looks! I can't believe how many people go from not noticing my car to checking it out and giving me compliments when all they can tell is that the car is low with "cool" rims...it could just be cut springs and they wouldn't think twice! I even get girlies in their new grand ams and hondas checkin' me out now...apparently the gold wheels just weren't cool enough!
The wheel weight is supposed to be about 22 pounds. The UPS shipping tag said my front wheel/tire assemblies were about 42 lbs, rears about 44. The stock 88 GT wheels and tires averaged around 44 pounds when I shipped them (they were kinda nasty, so some were different weights ), so they're little to no gain depending on wheel/tire sizes. No noticeable change in vehicle dynamics as far as the weight shift away from the axle is concerned, but the traction is about 10x better from a launch and about 3x better through turns.
The best part, in my opinion, of the wheel/tire upgrade is the improvement in high speed handling. I didn't feel comfortable with the vehicle handling above 90ish before, but now I can cruise at 110 without the car feeling NEARLY as squirelly.
I got mine from www.discounttiredirect.com for 1150 shipped to my door, with those wheels, tires, lugnuts, hub spacers, locking lugnuts, mounted, and balanced. I lost one of my centercaps driving a week later and they shipped me one the next day.
So...nothing but good things to say. So far, the second best investment I've made in the car monetarily (after the rear coilovers and poly).

I believe that's what My7Fieros has on one of his GT's. To be honest, they look, and probably are exactly the same. I bet with the Konigs, you are probably just paying for the name.
If I would have found a place to buy the Montigue's, I would have bought those.

Alright I went to discounttiredirect.com to look for some rims. I want to get 17's but I need some help. There is different prices for the same rim but each rim has a different size. What size rim do you guys reccommend? Should I get 17x7 or 17x8? Then what size tires fit the best I was thinking about going with 40 series tires? Anyone else running 40 series? Any help would be great.

You can go 17x7 all the way around, but I would suggest 17x8 in the rear. I would run a 45 series tire in the front 215/45-17 in particular, and a 40 series in the rear, either 235/40-17 or 245/40-17.
