Someone has an aftermarket power steering on their Fiero on the forum. Can anyone tell me where I can get one for mine?

Thank you
Fino

The few power steering Fieros I have seen have been conversions using the Mercury Merkur system. I know no one who had done it themselves, but had purchased a used Fiero that had the conversion already done.

The Quicksilver Zimmer Fiero based specialty car har power steering. The only owner I know who has one is Bob Steiger at Twin Lakes Fiero. See vendor list to find Bob.

Actually, it's not a Mercury Merkur. It's from a Merkur Xr4ti, from what I've seen on the forum. Literally bolts in, it sounds like. Just a matter of running fluid lines to the front, adding brackets and the pump, getting the belts figured out, and putting in a reservoir. Not super easy, but easy enough for those that really are desperate for power steering.

Just make sure you get the Merkur steering rack out of a wrecked or otherwise disabled XR, if you drive one you may get hooked(we had 5 XR4Ti's at one time, now only one)...rather like another car I've grown to know and love.
