Hey all, i just went to a junk-yard i have never been to before, they had about 15 fieros! One had t-tops, but it was an '87, still had the glass in the trunk(i took pics, need to develope), they also had about 3 '88 coupes there as well, all with suspension, anyway, i thought only the '88s had the original t-tops in them. But i've been reading other threads here and now i'm confused, some-one please set me straight! If they did make them in '87 how can i tell if they are real or aftermarket! Plmk, i may go back and get it if its original..jim('84 Indy)
p.s. this junkyard also has an '87GT with v-6/getrag still in car(engine was slightly picked over), this gt had the leather/suede option on interior but interior was very poor, color was black but originally was burgandy)..thanks

Junkyard t-top? Anything salvagable? I have a 87GT t-top and could use a couple parts...

88 Fiero could be ordered with t-top from the same company that did the aftermarket installation for earlier years - C&C (Cars and Concepts).

In '88 the cars were sent from factory to C&C and then to the dealer (the RPO code will show factory t-tops) and the earlier models ('87 etc) were sent from factory to dealer and then to C&C or from factory to dealer to customer and then to C&C. Technically the only year to have factory t-tops was '88 although it was also a dealer option which means that the '87 you are seeing could have a dealer installed option t-tops which were installed by C&C prior to the customer taking delivery.

Hope this helps..........

Let me get this straight, You went to a junkyard and it had "15" fireos, a ttop fiero with glass, a GT almost complete and not one but "3" 88's. Has anyone else had this same dream or is it just me.....

What a score, I would have spent all weekend removing parts. Good luck

Hey i saw alot of fieros that day, and i even didn't go to my regular junk yard which usually has between 4-6 fieros in there. The first junk yard i went to was just getting a '88 coupe delivered to them, complete, not wrecked, they said it spun a bearing, if i had an '88 i would have bought this '88 as parts right then! Interior was kinda rough. ..jim('84 Indy)
