I already posted about completeing this but now I have some pictures so I thought I'd post again. It sounds great, it hits very clean and hard. I still haven't cranked it because the instructions recommended a 20 hour break-in period for the sub.
This is what is in the pictures:
Rockford Fosgate 8" HX2 DVC
Rockford Fosgate 500.2 amp

This is a picture of the sub in the box from the side

Here is a shot of the box in its corner

And a close up

This is a wide angle of the amp under its glass

A top view of the amp

A more clear picture of the amp with the glass removed

From the other side

I designed the sub box and my dad built it, it is made out of MDF and is air tight. Inside there is about .226 cubic feet. He may make a few more to sell if there is a demand, I am not sure of the price.

Why not install it in the stock location. 8 inches fits there. I have one in mine.

My original plan was to put it in the stock location, but I wanted a solid enclosure and I coulnd't find a piece of PVC pipe with the right diameter anywhere so I just gave up and moved to the footwell design. It didn't look like there was much room up there with the heatercore and everything.

Looking good. Are you going to cover the box with carpeting? As for the amp, Why did you decide on the trunk? I have mine behind the seat. The trunk tends to get too hot with a large amp unless you vent the trunk.
What about the rest of the system? What are you using for the head unit and other speakers?

I mounted it in the trunk for a few reasons. 1. Everyone in my family is tall and the passenger and driver seat are always back to the firewall so there is no room for the amp
2. I wanted a place where I could show off the amp setup
3. I was worried about someone breaking into my car, but I guess behind the seat or trunk doesn't make much of a difference in that case
4. I had read on the forum that the trunk stays relativly cool, if I have a problem with overheating durring the summer I will probably get a fan or something to help cool the amp

I have Pioneer 4x10"s in the dash that sound pretty good but don't produce any bass worth speaking of. The headrest speakers are factory as far as I know. I want to get 4 of the infinity Kappa 3.5" speakers to replace them with, but the factory speakers sound suprisingly good. The head unit is a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD50.

I am done spending on audio for now though, I still need to pay off my engine rebuild and pay for my next project... painting my car.

Sounds like a good system. I would suggest that once you change the seat speakers to the Infinity's to buy a set of either 4" or 5 1/4" seperates for the front then add a crossover to cut the bass out at 125hz to the speakers and have the subwoofer get all the 125hz and below. The round spakers up front will have a better sound. Also then you could add a second amp in back. I have 4 4" Polk Audio seperates (1 pair up front and the second pair in the sail panels) They sound so much better than when I had the 4X10's and 4X6's. I also am using the RF 8" sub in the footwell. I'm running 200W to it and 200W (50W each) to the Polks. It's crossed at 125hz for sub and 4500hz for the tweeters. I am also running an Audio Control Surround Sound system.
