After looking at the earlier thread about a CO Fiero club, it got me thinking...
Why not? I have never organized such a club, but I would be glad to help. What needs to be done?
Obviously we would need to set up a meeting time (preferably once or twice a month,) a meeting place (either centralized between all of our locations, or have it in each person's locale for each get-together.) Maybe set up a web page or something. I think it would be very cool to check out other people's rides first hand.
Here is the list (based on the other thread) of who is in Colorado, and on the Forum. (This list isn't all inclusive, just for starters, to show that we are out here in CO.)
Flamberge - that's me (Denver) IwannaIRM (Englewood) MrFiero (Brighton) GTMike (Ft. Collins) Wkayl (Loveland) Axmanmkii (somewhere in CO) Dr. Rodey (Aurora)
Comments, ideas, yays/nays?
Thanks.

Looks like north Denver metro area would be the best. Someplace on 120th (Perkins, Wendy's, Sonic) or 104th (Gunther Tuddys, New McDonalds, Sonic, Wendys) Only time I'm free this month are the 13th, 19th, 20th.

The 19th sounds like the best idea. I will need driving directions to where we end up meeting, though. Just an address will do, I can use Yahoo driving directions.
What about the others, what do you guys think?

i'll be there. over the past 6 months i have see alot of fieros in FT Collins. one guy has a 3800 in his. if we had a club i would pass the word around. we need a website to refer people to.

I'm game. The problems of the past for me was no real support. I was trying to organize the whole thing and didn't have enough time to do a good job. As a result many people just never showed up again.
We were using the moniker "Mile High Fieros", but we don't necessarily need to continue using it.
I went back to college, so I still don't have a lot of time to devote to this, but if there are a bunch of us that are willing to share the responsibilities of running a club then I see no reason why it won't work.
BTW.....I'm now in Greeley (not Brighton), so I am closer to wkayl & GTMike than the rest of you.
Just pick a time and a place and I'll be there. I'll dig up the old phone #'s & e-mail addresses from past members to see if they still have their Fiero and if they are interested in a resurrection.

So are we thinking the 19th of January, a Saturday? What time is good for everyone? I will call the guy I sold my red Fiero to, maybe he'll want to come also.

The 19th works for me. That's the weekend after school starts up again, but I doubt I'll have any homework (I hope!)
Let's decide on a location and a time. Wayne (wkayl) suggested a few places, but let's narrow it down a bit. I like anyplace on 104th Ave. It's relatively centralized for everyone and not too crowded.
I only hope the weather cooperates!

When I went to the North Texas Fiero Club Meetings I enjoyed how they went. Everyone showed up round noonish or so, talked about each other cars and new things and then chowed down on some barbeque. Talked some more and then waited til next month. Kind of loose knit but very enjoyable.
Better get the Formula washed by the 19th then. Let me know where and what time.
Just think, when the weather gets better we can do a Pikes Peak cruise and take pics at the summit. Just a thought for an event.

Noon sounds great... now we just need a place. I don't know the area too well...but somewhere with a large and empty parking lot should suffice. (And getting BBQ/food afterwards is a fantastic idea!)

The McDonalds on west 104th is a new one with the retro styling from the 50's. Sonic on east 104th has no inside seating. Gunther Tuddys would be cool with it's 50's theme and large parking lot. 12:00 Jan 19th sounds like the time to get together. I vote for Gunther's. It is about 1 block west of I-25 on 104th.

Yes it is still at noon at Gunther Toody's. I called the guy who bought my 85SE and he said he will also be there. I am thinking about 6 or 7 of us so far! =) I will bring a camera and/or video camera so we can post pics online!
I can't wait! Next weekend!!
*EDIT* Oh yeah, and Choptop, move soon, I can't wait to see your blue Fiero in person!!*EDIT*

I know of 2 more people going, so I think we will have at least a dozen Fiero people there.
I just hope the weather holds up.
BTW......I have an idea for a "tech session". I will be dropping the gas tank out of a Formula after our get together, so anyone who has never seen this done can come over and watch or whatever. I replaced the fuel pump on it a few months ago and evidently teh stupid rubber O ring didn't get a good seal and it leaks gas when you fill it up. D'oh!
Just a thought. I can show off some low mileage Fieros too......the one I'm working on has about 5000 miles and there's a 114 mile Formula and a 33k mile Formula (both with T-Tops) in the same storage garage.
There's also a handful of late model Trans-Ams, a restored '64 Vette convertible and an '82 Ferrari 308 GTS-i, so something for just about everyone to look at.

wkayl - That's great! I hope that person shows up too. "Uh...is this a Fiero Club meeting?" I go to college with a girl who has a nice 86 (or 87) SE that is gold and her dad bought it new. I want to invite her but don't want her to think I am asking her out, because 1) I am married 2) she is most certainly NOT my style (well, except the Fiero thing) and 3) I am married. Maybe I will bring it up, and say something like "and invite your dad and anyone else you know to come too!"
mrfiero - a dozeon people! I better get two rolls of film.
*wonders when I will have time to wash my car before Saturday*
And bump....

"Mile High Fiero Club Get Together... if you own a Fiero, or are interested in America's best loved mid-engine car, then hang out with other Fiero enthusiasts this weekend at the first Mile High Fiero Club meeting. When: Saturday, Jan. 19th at Noon. Where: Gunther Toody's on 104th Ave just off I-25. For further info: *my phone number*"
Wouldn't it be nice if we had so many Fieros that we had to move to a bigger parking lot once everyone showed up? It could be an impromptu Fiero Show.
btw - I would love to see the "tech lesson," just give me about 2 weeks notice so I can ask for the time off of work. (Hopefully it won't be when I have class.)

I think my wife will be with me. I am also trying to talk my wife into letting my daughter drive her Fiero also (wife afraid of daughter driving the interstate).

I will be dropping the gas tank right after our meeting coms to a close, but there will be plenty of other times. I would like to do something each time we meet......even if it's a small job. I'm no mechanic, but I have been tinkering with Fieros for almost 12 years and have a few tricks up my sleeve.
I hope to see a bunch of Fieros on Saturday!!

wkayl - be sure to stress how safe fieros are at Freeway speed, and that you will be flying in the chase aircraft - er I mean Fiero along the way. =)
MrFiero - Depending on how long the meeting lasts, I could do it. I have dinner with some friends at 5pm, so we'll see. I agree, something (anything should be done at every meeting.) If I get my headlight kits in by then I will bring them and we can install them. ;)
