Well I am not at my wits end, I do love my car. But I need a car that is going to run.
In my job I do alot of traveling and with the latest breakdown of my car, I am strongly considering tradeing my Fiero for a 280Z. The sys admin at a government installment that I just installed a server in, wants my Fiero and has offered my a 280z for it. The z is no comparison to my Fiero but it does run. Thus far I have put 2500 into my car and it is still not running right. Well not running at all atm.

If I do trade I will keep it long enuf to find another Fiero. Hopefully one that will stay on the road more often than not.

I have already had a co-worker offer to buy me another Fiero (within reason) for the 280 if I trade with him. Unfortunatly I have to get the car running befor I can trade it.

I am not sure what I am going to do but something has got to give.

Nearly insane,
Randy

it is a 78. The paint is bad, like my car. The interior is messed up, the last owner tried to install a stereo, but in the process of doing so he nearly destroyed the dash. I don't want to trade my car, but money is tight and times are tough. But mainly I NEED a car I can drive. At least the z is in good mechanical shape.

8 From what you are describing sounds like either your ignition coil went or the ignition module. (do the coil first cheaper)

Ummmm.. trading a Fiero for a 280 that's 10 years older is not a good idea. You might gain a slight benefit of a running car today, but long run the Z will be a money pit and if you drive a lot, the Z is much less pleasant to ride in. I had one.

I'd have to recommend sticking with the Fiero and trying to get it to work. The Z may be running right now, but it sounds like it is in rough shape. IF it breaks down (and could tomorrow!) its gonna cost a LOT more to get fixed. If you need a reliable car to drive, this Z doesn't sound like the answer.

Since you've got so much cash into the Fiero already, it would be a shame to throw it away now. Whichever way you choose, best of luck!

I have it all sorted out now. The Fiero is for sale. I have to get enuf out of it to pay of the loan I took out for it. $1000 gets it.

I just bought a 96 Grand Am. Low miles and in perfect shape with all the options.
I am going to buy another Fiero when the situation is better. But Right now I will still be on the group regularly, Just Fieroless again.

I would LOVE to keep it but I now have 2 cars that do not run. The Fiero and My wife's Hyundai. Can't keep em both so one must go. You guess which one. Plus like I said I need to pay off what I owe on the car. So I only have one car payment. I just dropped myself almost 8k in debt for th GA.

I will be getting another Fiero though. Just as soon as my situation is better.
I make descent money but I have to dig out of debt and the Fiero is just not helping me do that at the moment.

I am going to miss her after all I just got my new Seat covers today I haven't even taken them out of the box yet. So I will be throwing them in as well I suppose.
