Ok now that I am starting construction on the Stage 2 kit I thought it was a good time to release pictures of whats coming next after all its bits are done. This stuff can mix and match with it also.
I know a lot of people want a 1989 Fiero. Well producing a whole body is just way too expensive. Not enough people would buy it to justify tooling. Seriously. But I decided to combine 1989 features to any 1985 to 1988 Fiero coupe, yes a coupe, to come up with a cheaper alternative. I use a combination of 1989 Fiero GT and 1989 Fiero coupe features to come up with a feasible hybrid that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, and could still be fitted by the home handyman in a weekend. Having some 89 coupe pics helped.
The grey bits in the second picture shows what gets replaced. The roof section is a piece of cake to make. The moulds wont be. Curved perspex or lexan isn't really that hard to do. The standard wing gets moved back.
I have also posted a mix and match combo with body kit stage 2 features incorporated into it.
I will let the pics explain the rest. Yes this will get produced after all the Stage 2 bits are finished. Well as long as they sell to my expectations anyway.
Here I go making suggestions again. Could you make it so the edges if the notchback looking sail panel are more flush with the lexan piece? I always thought that it always made it look like the lexan sail panels were tacked on. (Actually I think they were, I remember reading something about them having problems when they first tried to make them.)

I like it. As for the sail panels, you could also just use a GT and the lower body parts for another variant. I really love the 89 front end and side vent. I'll be heavily considering this when you get it ready!

I really wish I could. I get all jittery if I am not doing something. A true workaholic. I only sleep 3 to 5 hours a day normally and work the rest. I have been careful though after surgery. I wont push it too far. I did once, that was not fun. So now I have afternoon or early evening naps. Thats why the stage 2 side scoops are going to take 3 weeks. In full health I could have the moulds ready in 4 days.
But I am pretty close to being back to full health now. Just making sure I don't push it too early.
This project will come into fruition also, it will just take some time.
Now how do I put a subliminal message in here telling people to buy Stage 2 side scoops

Yep Haze. the other thread explains it better. But they will be bolt ons . New lower sail panel sections and half doorskin sections. I was going to just do door extensions but decided a half doorskin make life easier for people, anybody could fit them then with no major hassles. No moulding in to do. Bolt them on and paint.
I would just like to say that Aus... You are the greatest thing to happen to fiero since Archie and Cliff
Those Layout look really nice...AWSOME actually. Sure it is not an exact copy of an 89 but it looks good in an affordable kit. The one pic where the car is red and grey... I am not sure if anything is actually differant between it and the one just above but it looks the best of them all.

Yep. Both lots of side panels will fit all model Fieros. I am also currently revising the 89 hybrid design to make life a little easier all round. I figured it isn't an exact replica so I have a little bit of artistic discretion to play with. Will post some pics soon.
By the way, anyone got any tips on removing Fiero doorskins? Anything I should watch out for? I have my lower sail panels off, just have to take the skins off now to make fibreglass copies of both first to work with. So I suppose I will have fibreglass repros of standard ones available too seeing i will have the moulds and all.
Originally posted by sqoach: So Aus, you're saying there's gonna be another door panel we put on? I thought it would be just like the stock ground f/x bolts on?
To keep the moulded in look sqoach it will be a lower door panel replacement. The join will be hidden by your side mouldings. I am doing it this way so people wont have to mould in the door trim section. It does work out a little more cost wise but I am aiming at making everything bolt on while still be really smooth looking. I want anybody with basic hand tools to be able to fit this kit easily and quickly. No moulding in of parts I supply. Plus it would only look bad for me if someone done a real bodgy job moulding in the lower sections and had their car on display. Bolt on sections for the lower door only would not look right. See the stage 2 thread later in the day/night and you will see exactly what will come with the kit.
Aus, Most kits I've seen made for the Fiero (more like all of them) have both the front and rear facias made out of fiberglass (or whatever material the kit is made from). Will you be doing the same? Personally, I'd like to see them made out of the same material as the orginal facias. Knowing that my bumper covers won't easily crack gives me some peace of mind.
BTW; any ideas for the tail lights?

Yep Fibreglass it has to be. I don't have the money it costs to make moulds for the duraflex ones. Would have to sell 500 kits to justify that sort of expense, and pay for them all up front. I kinda don't have a few hundred grand lieing around.

Really, nice Aus. Can you do a mock up of that as an Indy. Man, wouldn't it be great if the Fiero would come back as a not so distant future Pace Car again?

Well stage 2 stuff will be starting to ship late this week. Finally. It has been a long haul interupted by a brain tumour then a fire so I will be glad to be able to get on with the other parts of that kit. After that is done I will probably play with this one. I will still need a coupe to play with though. I will get one eventually.
To answer a few questions. Yes it is designed to suit any coupe and the rear sail panel windows would be made out of curved perspex rather than glass.
Build the 89 Facia and I will buy. Will be a while since I need to get my car moving under its own power 1st... But I will buy one.

Sorry, but how much are you charging in US funds, and how much to ship to Canada? I WANNITWANNITWANNIT!!!!
Am I to understand that you are creating a bolt-in replacement for the sail windows that curves out to the decklid, to acheive the curved "fastback" look?

How much, Do you have any pix?
How long would the wait be if I ordered some today?
I will fit some scoops to my Fiero over next weekend and post some pictures of them then. Doni Hagen will be gettting the first set so perhaps he will be able to post some pictures as soon as his car is painted. Price is on www.fieroshop.com.au and the wait at present is one month due to a backlog of orders.
