I was just wondering if this would be possible to do. What I had in mind was to cut the lower section off and mold it back on a little bit lower. Then smooth all of the lines that seperate the black area to the red area and paint to match. What do you think? (I know this isn't my car, so I apologise to who ever's fiero I hacked to death.)

While I'm no fan of the tacked on side pieces, I do like the molded in ground effects of the front and rear facias. From your rendering it initially appears a little slab sided. But sometimes pics don't do ideas justice, it might look really good in person.

One thing I have learned over the years of working on cars, anything is possible, anything you can possibly think of or dream of. The question of getting it done is only limited by the depth of your wallet.

I would have to agree with Choptop's comment on being a little slab sided. Though molding it in would give it a unique look I have always wondered about how well the filler would hold out against flexing.
Sure you could fill in all the seams (Is it Smooth who has already done it?) but I am curious about how long it would last before cracking. Is it a urethane filler for flexability? How would it be done?
i didn't section mine but i did fill in the seam that makes it look like the ground fx are added to the front and rear facias. i used 3m auto mix urethane bumper repair. it got more of a test than i wanted 'cause the car got hit slightly and then was close to a shed that caught fire that deformed the rear facia, but neither made it crack or delaminate. i'm going to do it again when i get another facia. i don't know about the sides because i started with a coupe.
