i was just on my way to the local party store and was bpassing the local wrecker service and happened to glance at the impound lot and smackedthe brakes, there was an 88 gt fastback i immediantly went inside to ask about it the women said it had been there for about 8 months and that they had picked it up along side the road i asked more about it and finally they went out with the keys and a little jump and a few pumps of the gas she fired runs perfect so 50 bucks in about three weeks i'll have an 88 gt. Stupid paperwork takes 3 weeks. randy

i'm not dreaming in fact i just pinched myself several times to make sure i wasnt and im trying to convince my parents it a a good deal but they hate the cars so its a hopeless cause no one around me likes fieros they all "criticize" the car vandalize it and most importantly make the tires go flat so i just stopped driving it to school. Although i can spank any car at school and they know, that they still say its slower than the stoneage, there is a Penzoil in holland mi and they are glued to my car thay absoluetly love it espically skid plates and the full roll cage. i love fieros and what do i get in response mockery i wish i could hurt them without getting in trouble.

So '85 evidently it is carburated huh. Well, you said you had the pump the gas a couple of times and on a fuel injected engine that is a waste energy in the calf muscle... So really, is it true or are you typing in your sleep?

What about the tow bill? The shop towed the fiero in, and just gave it away for the cost of paperwork???

TO 87gtz34 by what i meant i turned the key on and off several times so the fuel pump would engage, alos this morning i got a call from him and he said that it might come with a salvage title (it can be turned around) and that i would to get it turned over to a clean title before i could drive it. Why its so cheap, owners my dads friend, its been there a while, and another company brought it there because they dont deal with fieros. HeHeHe i am checking out three other fieros after school at impounds so ill get back tonight. randy

I know what would make this story more believeable to me... TWIN TURBOS!
Everytime Mr. 85 gt posts on this subject, it becomes more and more laughable. "Another company" shuffles off a mint 88 GT to "dads friend's yard" because he "doesn't mess with Fiero's". I mean, the car "turned over with a jump" and "few clicks of the key". How much "messing with Fieros" would that shop have to have done? I don't care if it's a Wartburg or a Lada, ifit's in "mint" shape, it's going for FAR more then $50.
Besides, what shop is going to drop everything they are doing to try to get a $50 car started for a 16 year old kid who doesn't even have the $50 in his pocket? I can walk into a shop with $500 and practically have to sleep with someone to get helped.

Sorry bro. There are a lot of truly gullible folks on this forum. But I ain't the one.

I paid 300 for my car, from a tow yard. I offered 300.00. I even knew the owners. I could have got my car for less. Im still not complaining. I still think 50.00 for a 88 is BULL SH**.NO WAY... They would but it in a action and sell it. I had to put 3000.00 into my car to make it mint. I want proof...

I hope there no bsing u. Impounds around here charge $75 for the tow and $8 day to keep it. They may sell it to you as a default mechanics lien, but you may only get a salvage title if any. You may have to get it all reinspected and titled to buy plate and insurance for it. If it all works out, great job, its not that big a deal to get it retitled just a big PITA.

Shi*, just got back from the impound lot i just had to look at it again couldnt believe myself, the guy walked with me and started to explain its "flaws" the guy said the undercarriage didnt look so good so i got on my knees and looked and the whole bottom was rust, (i think this car is where all the rust originated) but other than that really nice condition, i will have to replace the engine cradle, front suspension, shocks, carpet and back compartment, i think it might have been an flood damage because the more i look the more i am diaspointed. If it's really that bad- pay the $50 and part it out. I'll give you $100 for the fastback fascia There- you've already made 100% profit and you've still got a whole car to part out!

Or if you're really persistent- buy it, then transfer everything to a clean frame!

hey fiero hunter 85, was the engine toast or did it just run like crap, i bought my 85 gt rally car for 1000 bucks :d the guy was asking 3800 but it was my friends dad and he knew i had a limited supply of that green stuff so he asked me how much i had and i said not enough and he said how muvh is taht i said 1200 and to my surpise he said i could have it for 100 that way i have 200 left over for title transfer. That was sweet i couldnt believe my ears, he had two identical cars, maroon 85 gt, lime green 85 gt all rally cars with under 5500 miles on them. All rally cars full roll cage, skid plates, etc if any one wants one i can see how much guessing around 2500 for these really nice guy. Randy
