Just got back from the 6th Annual Run For The Hills in Cherokee, NC. What a blast!!!There were around 30 Fieros that went on the run Saturday Morning. What an awesome sight to see so many great looking Fieros going thru all those curves. We had a great road-side tech session when my ignition module went out on my Formula. Luckily Ed Parks and David Hunter were behind me in line - instead of in front. David Hunter had a few spare ignition modules and, of course, Ed had the know how. What did I learn???? NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT ONE - -an igition module, that is. We didn't make the Sunday Morning run - - but I'm sure it was as exciting (probably faster) than yesterdays. We think that the Smoky Mtns were beautiful - - we were going so fast - didn't get to take in much scenery. I know of 6 state that were represented. Met a few people from the forum - nice to put faces with names. Made several new friends. We will post pics soon - - Anyone else that was there - let us here your thoughts and see your pics.

Glad you guys had fun! Wish I could have been there.
Your Formula ate it's ignition module?! It was only about a year old.
Was a GM module too. I even used the heat-sink compound. Oh well...

Hey Steve, man , wish you could have been there, we had a really good time. Yeah , that thing just played out, started stumbling and missing , then it just died about 2-3 miles down the road. I knew you had put a new one in it , but , you never know when it's gonna give it up! I'm gonna pick up another one just for insurance.Other than that, think everyone there had a great time.

Ronnie, Here is a shot of the tech session.

Easy fix wasn't it. Only one ignition module and one road sign were casualties the whole run. I enjoyed the brake and my cousin got a chance to take a breath.

Just got home, more photos after I do some editing. I have about 175 shots.

b lo 0, It wasn't Ronnie. The car following me didn't make the progressive turn onto the Blueridge Pkwy., got in the grass and took out a sign. Minor damage, skuffed facia and bent lower facia brace.

Had to driver over 1K miles to get there but was worth every inch of it Definitely this is something that every Fiero owner should experience once in a lifetime. That drive was just awesome! Imagine the most perfect curved road with a perfect weather and driving that car they way it was designed to be driven. Words just can’t describe it. I was in the front pack and we were going so fast that I thought I was going to loose traction several times. No time at all to look at the scenery. Just concentrating in the road or you would be in the ditch. Met Ronnie, Wolfhound, Songman, Paul88GT from the forum. Great guys like all Fiero owners. Couldn’t be better…

Awesome scenery, weather, roads, and fieros. I regret that I missed the first 5 RFTHs events. This was the most fun I have had in my ride. I enjoyed meeting others from the forum (Alex4mula, Ronnie, Wolfhound, Songman). I was going over 70 at times on those curvy roads and I was toward the rear of the pack. Coming into those curved, dark tunnels at high speeds was also interesting. That line of 30 fieros received some interesting stares on the trip. I couldn't make the Deal's Gap run on Sunday. I had to spend some quality time with my family who accompanied me on the trip. This is one event I will try to make every year.

Hey Wolfhound, thanks for the supportive picture!!! LOL. Was the most fun driving my car that I've had!! Til it quit!! But , you just never know when something like that will happen. Who took out a road sign? Guess I missed that.

Ronnie, When we left the parking lot,( being from Alabama I can't count) I think I was fifth. When we hit the entrance to the parkway I saw the cars in front disappear into the turn. I never let up thinking it was an easy shot. I almost didn't make it. The car behind me didn't. I heard a bang and in the rear view saw a Fiero spining around and blue smoke. I,ll PM you and tell you who. It was cool , He only lost two places in the line. I slowed and saw two others pull over and stuck my foot back in it. The car was beautiful but not painted yet. At the first stop I went over and Ed had everything under control. Straightened a lower front Fascia brace and he was good to go.

Reason for edit!
Oh, What happen to you left me paranoid all the way home. I carry one in the Blue GT but left in too big of a hurry!
Big Fun!!!

This was my first time and it was a blast. I missed the first run saturday but made the one on suday morning to deals gap. What a fun road! I think they designed it just for Fieros. For those who went on this run know me as "The new guy with the off road suspension." Lots of fun.

Thanks to everyone for a great time on the run. Lyn and I were in the blue GT.

I left our 1st stop on the parkway third in line and struggled to keep up with Charlie and Freddy. At the next stop I learned why. I was chasing a 3.4 and a 3.4 turbo! Lyn put some permanent marks in the door handle and center console so I fell back some for the rest of the trip.

This is my 3rd run and we have had great weather for each. Thanks to David Hunter for a great route.

Hey Recluse, send me your e-mail address so I can add you to our NC club mailings. It was great to meet you Saturday afternoon and glad you were able to make the Deal's Gap run.

Again, great to see everyone and I am looking forward to the next one. It was a great way to take our minds off the world's problems for a few hours...
