OK, I have a 2-month use CarFax account. I have voluntarily checked cars for anyone who has posted requests in the last couple of weeks.
Sadly, someone today decided to take advantage of my generosity and run a tremendous number of CarFax reports.
For those that don't know/understand- whenever you run a carfax report, it is emailed to my address...
Whoever is doing this, please stop now! If you were intelligent enough to ask, I would gladly have run reports for you. But now you have forced me into a PISSY mood- and I now have to be on guard about who I help.
I have always provided everyone here with whatever info I can- even regarding my "Special Projects" (Taillights & Gauges). My goal in participating in this Forum is the have a friendly community with those of similiar interests- not to make a profit off you or to steal from you. Although I have an unlimited use for this two month period, I do still consider it stealing.
To whoever is doing this. Please stop. For those that participate in this Forum- I'm sad to say that you should be weary of helping too many people... someone will eventually take advantage of your generosity-as someone has mine!
Joe- you did warn me... guess next time I'll be more secretive!

I hate thucking fieves with a passion! It's a shame when someone takes advantage of another person's generosity. Don't let it sour you on people in general, Rob.

Sounds like what I did a couple months ago... I posted my login and password to help the Fiero community to all the lists and the forum... I got hundreds of e-mails, but I shrugged it off since I did get a lot of thanks.
If one person is just taking advantage of you without asking, and without appreciation... That's just wrong.
Sorry to hear about that. Some people can be such a#$^$^. Rob I hope you posting that responce for me did not let somone get your password. P.S. Did you get my pm that I sent?

Ok it was me. I like to run carfax reports for cars all the time. I think it is fun and time consuming. Dont worry I will only do it another 20-30 times and I will be done. Thanks

Its a shame this stuff happens, but you really need to be careful as to what you post on a message board! There are always going to be people looking to take advantage of you out there, and you have to protect yourself from them!

When did you send it? I don't recall offhand.

I got in a pissing match with CarFax because I was running too many VINs through, even though I had bought the "Unlimited" plan. Of course, I was running anyone's VIN that supplied me with it, regardless of the vehicle. CarFax sent me a few nastygrams, to which I asnwered back just as nastily, and they backed off for the duration of my purchase period. I would suggest such a nasty gram!
Boomtastic... strange thing is that I've not heard anything from CarFax about it. Only one has been run without my permission since I posted this thread. Thanks for the suggestion- sometimes you have to define "unlimited" for companies like that!
