I used plain old self adhesive laminating sheets, available at most office supply outlets. Although with the red ones (due to white backlit and lettering) do not need the paper layer described in the other thread. Printing the backlit layer on a translucent clear non adhesive laminating sheet would do it and stick the red adhesive one on top.

You print them backwards so they can be stuck to the main faces with the ink side down. Helps protect the gauges basically. More info in the instructions thread.

A clarification about the size. After I have saved the image and print it the size of the square area the face is on is 6.4 by 6.7 inches or about 30% too large! What process should I use to reduce it to the correct size?

I am assuming you have you printer set at the wrong resolution? you will need to set it at 150DPI. 30% bigger would mean about 200DPI, which is a common faxing resolution. I have 300DPI Versions of the images but at 97 meg a set, they won't be going online

I checked for resolution setting, but do not have any specific readings ( I have a HP Deskjet 722c). The display when I select print preview is width of 6.4" and Height of 6.6". I can change these numbers. What should I use to get the proper size when I print the faces?

Brian, I have a 660C. I dont know if the settings are the same, but try this.... Go to flie, then print setup. A box should pop up with your settings. Click on Properties next to your printer name. Then on the top there, click the Graphics tab. It shoudl say Resolution and there should be a drop box with the different printing resolutions. Just click on 150 and click OK. Good luck.

Thanks for the information, but when I select proporties I find I do not have a graphic tab. I have setup, features, color, services, and DOS. Under setup I have 3 options: best, normal, and econo fast. These 3 seem to be the only way to change the resolution. However, I have the faces displayed in MGI Photo Suite and if I select Image then size I get a drop down box that indicated the image is displayed at 619 by 645 pixles. I do then have access to two boxed to change the two pixle settings. If I knew the exact sizes to input in these boxes I would be all set to print. Do you or anyone have those settings?
Hey, would someone make me a set of these if I paid them? Don't rip me off here. I'm not good with this kind of stuff and don't have a good printer.

Squoach if I can get mine to print out good, I'd make you a set. But right now, I'm having the same problem brian is. I did test print at 150dpi, and the MPH gauge came out to almost a whole page. Aus, can you give us a pixel size or an inch size? because when I printed from both PSP5 and Adobe5, I get a HUGE piece.

Aus, this is a really cool thing you're doing for the forum members...Thanx! However, do you think youll be doing any 85 MPH speedos? My 86 SE V6 has an 85 MPH in it instead of the 120...think you'll be doing any (in the diff colors)? Thanx, M7F

Yep I sure will be doing some. Jsut waiting for some good prints of them to work with. They will have to wait now unfortunately until I get over my impending surgery. I will do a web site then and put heaps of styles and colours online in high resolution zip files for people to downlaod.
Anyone trying to print this lot, sorry or D'oh. My mistake, I just realised they have been saved at 72 DPI rather than 150 DPI. The ones online in ZIP format when I recover will be at 300 DPI.

AUZ, Thanks again for all your effort to produce all the gauge faces. I think one face is missing. It is the imperial 120 MPH speedometer back/green lit face. The White face on the original post was accompied with a black 150 MPH face, but I could not seem to find the 120 black face with green numbers.

This is so nice of you to be doing this for everyone AusFiero. But...do you think us 84' Fiero owners could ever pressure you into possibly making some 85 mph speedometer overlays and tach w/ voltmeter in it, and fuel/temp overlays for the middle gauges? Just wondering...

For those who don't know what materials to use, go to your local Office Supply store (OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Staples, etc...) and check in the aisle with printable labels. Avery makes a printable clear or Pritable White self-stick Label pages (for both Laser & Inkjet...be sure to get the right one). They are about $20 for 25 clear and $15 for 25 White Labels (8.5x11 InkJet). I hope this helps! -Rob

Aus, how about some 120 mph gage faces in the same style as the 84 gages? IE, use the same font and line width as the 84's, and only put tics for the 5 and 10 mile segments. I'd even buy the faces.
