Hello all!
I recently saved a Blue SE from a one owner (middle aged woman) and am going to be reselling. I am trying to found out what what, if any collectable value it has as less than 1400 blue SE were ever made.
I was told the engine was rebuilt less than a year ago. It has PW/PL Air,cruise, auto
unfortunately it is a 4cyl. I had to replace the alternator that was the only problem.
The windshield is cracked but it runs good and the interior is very clean, no console trim peel etc.. Any input would be appreciated. I got a real good deal I think 400.00 I have too many other cars so it has to go or trade for a fastback gt

Sounds like a hell of a deal. 87 4 cylinder SE's are extremely uncommon. Blue 87 SE's are also very uncommon. As for collector's value, I don't know. But it's got a huge "wow factor".

How many miles are on the car? What would you be willing to sell it for? As for "rarity", Blue SE's are hard to find. I've seen more blue coupes and GT's than SE's.

As far as 1987 SEs go, 3875 were made...

1987 SE V6s = 2474
1987 SE 4-cyls = 1401

If you wanted to go by options, I'm sure that there aren't too many blue 1987 SE 4-cyls out there.

Can't beat the price you paid for it. Sounds like a fun resto-project for someone.

There are a few others with blue 87 SEs on this forum and one is a 4-cyl also, another has a V6.

Good luck,
Kelvin

I saw a blue SE this weekend at the MI show. Definatly a neat looking car! I believe there were only 3 stock 87 blue cars there, but a lot of yellow ones. I thought that yellow was supposed to be rarer than blue. But, mine was the only blue coupe, there was a very nice blue GT that took first in the stock GT class, and then the blue SE.

Last time I read, there were only 4,134 blue Fieros ever made, include coupe, SE, and GT

Ironically, we had a new guest at the GA.FIEROS meeting just yesterday driving a blue 87 SE with the 4 cyl. with only 37k miles on it! Real clean , nice looking car.
