I seem to remember a member on the forum with a huge 454 v8 fiero. I cant remember who it was anymore . I was hoping to find some of the pics he posted of his car, because my friend has a 454 engine in a truck and he says they won't fit in a fiero . I really just wanted to see the pics again! I looked and searched everywhere on the forum with no luck. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Did he have a red GT and a huge scoop on the back?

It could have been Hugh. I know he cut out his trunk and mounted a longitudinal V8 but i don't know if it was actually a 454.

I had a friend with a replica Countach that had a 454 w/ dual 4 bbls. But he got rid of it a few years ago now. It was a frame stretch and it was longitudinal with Gertrag transaxle.....so it will fit in a stretch anyway.

I recall seeing a picture of a Fiero with a 454 mounted just like our engines are now. It had the decklid cut, exposing dual open element air cleaners. Anyone know where I might have seen this?

Memories, Oh Memories.

That picture was taken Aug. 1991 at IRP in Indianapolis. It was a Big Block brought to the show by Gary Zumwalt. Looked pretty impressive for the show but it was trailered in and we watched Gary push it off and back on the trailer. Don't know if it ran or not but he never started it at all before, during or after the show. I have some pics. someplace of him trying to push it onto the trailer by himself. He was towing the trailer with a old gold Old's 88 4 door.

The long weekend consisted of the Kit Car Magazine "Run & Gun" event on Wed, Thurs & Friday then the Kit Car show put on by SVCA Saturday & Sunday. Gary made it for the show but didn't bother to compete in the "Run & Gun".

Man 10 years ago, seems like yesterday.

I couldn't see the picture, but if it is the one I'm thinking of (white Fiero with white motor and tunnel ram setup), I have it on video in Carlisle PA circa 1993. (No - not running!) Most of the parts required to complete the project were made from billet T6061-T6 aluminum. I have the hand out from that show with the detailed parts descriptions - very impressive! At that time, Zumalt was selling his kit through Hertiage A & F of Posen, IL, which I believe has since gone out of business.

Nice car, awesome job with the swap. But does that scoop look more like a periscope than a scoop?
