I was at the Home Depot Yesterday when an '88 Gt with t-tops drove past me. The paint was starting to blister but with a little TLC it could be a great car again. The lady driving it did not seem to be the "Fiero Loving" type so I can only assume the car will become worse unless I can convince her to sell. Only one problem; I don't know where to reach her. I wrote down the license plate number and want to trace it without paying a detective $100 to do it. Help!

Here in Canada for $10 you can goto an automated terminal at the DMV and print out that info!

Look for a friend in the police department!!! Actually in some states you can go to the DMV and get that info. It's usually a couple of bucks though. Call up and ask!

it is very simple call the cops up and say that you are a security guar working for any BS place and that you woul need the lisence plate information so that you can look the subject up on your database and see if it was an employee or not. You can also say that you work for security at a school and then the cops will give you a number to call school security and then they will give you the information. Do sound professional and like you have done this before. I used it frecuently when I was a security officer at a public school. They should not give you any problems.
Ok and for the immature kids that might read this and try to blame me for it,
*This information is for educational purposes only. It is not intended in any way to be used in the real life. If by any chance you do I am not responsible for your actions*
Sigh only in this country would I have to write that.

Jerpro, It may be worth a try but I will have to make the call from a school since California Police have caller ID (not blockable) so they know where every incoming call is originating.
As for the crayon, If I could get close enough to do it, I wouldn't need to find the owner. HA! How'zat for logic?
Isn't that how Rebecca Sheafer's stalker found her? In California they have big time laws against giving out that type of info out from the DMV. If you were to get her address, you need to pray to Gawdalmighty that nothing happens to her or you would be suspect numero uno.
My recommendation is to put a missed connections ad in the Metro. People read all kinds of crap on their lunch break, maybe someone who knows her will read it.

OK OK, I'm enjoying all the psycho-stalker puns as much as anybody but I'm serious. Does anyone know how to do this? I mean what if someone caused a hit and run to my car in the parking lot and I got the license number. surely there must be some way I could trace that to find the guilty party. How different is this?
