Looks like a good deal. Of course year and model might define just how good a deal...

sounds great esp for $2k or BO

but be carefull and listen for defensive statements from the owner!

if he just spent $1500 on it, esp if he paid someone else to do the work

and now he is bailing out of the car

it could be something bad was discovered while all that work was being done

ya gotta be cold hearted - objective - and clear headed when looking at a used car

your hearts gonna be telling you: Its beautify, BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT!

but you gotta be cold hearted and skeptical - if the seller gives you any indication of serious trouble with the car - walk away! Even if you let a good deal get away from you - there were over 200,000 Fieros producted - still plenty more out there for you.

Get the VIN number off the dash and post it here (someone on this forum has CarFax (c:

and if there is anything fishy about the car get on here and post what you see - you got 2000 fiero addicts here at your beck and call!

If the car is really great and you have some reservations put the smallest deposit down you can to hold the car for a day or so while you think it though and get some feedback from us. Even if you put $100 down, and back out and loose it, you can do a lot worse on a used car that loosing $100.

If its great see if he'll hold it for $50.

I guess it is only a Fiero, it does not state if it is SE,GT or any of the other models. Its only about an hour away from me. So ill go an check it out when she responds to my email.

Things to look for:

New windshield?! Why? dont ask him - look at the car, was it wrecked? any rippled sheet metal under the front hood?

brand new tires? Why? look at the front end. Take a hydralic floor jack and raise the wheels and pull and twist them. Any thing loose? clunking? New tires may have been required cause the front end is badly out of alignment - or again, maybe the car was wrecked?

look for new paint on the front hood or bumer too. If he only hit a deer its not a bad thing (unless you are in the car at the time)

if the whole front clip has been replaced... :-O

Sounds like a good deal. But be careful. You said he just put lots of money into it. Probably just so it can sell. Or maybe he was considering keeping it. Do you know why he's selling so cheap? Is it a stock color? Everyone else has already given some good things to look for. Tell us what you find out.

the guy said it was donated to them. I do not think I will even bother, seeing as to it is an automatic, and it is not the year i want. I have waited two years for this car, i think i can wait a bit longer.

Good idea, hold out for a 4 or 5 speed. I looked for 3 years before I bought my GT. If you buy one that is really not what you want you will suffer from intense Fiero envy and you'll never fully bond with your car. These cars can put you through hell, and if you don't really love it, you'll grow to hate it.
