I was surprised, I searched through a ton of previous posts but couldn't find anything. If I wait a while I know where I can use a scale and I'll know for sure!
If anyone has the grassroots motorsports , entitled "Mid engine madness" they document the exact weight on each wheel of the fiero , I don't the exact #'s , but I don't think it was 60/40 , As each front wheel had 7xxLbs of weight on it , so in the neighbourhood of 1400lbs on the front of the car , taking into acct the car used was an 85 GT that probably weighed in at 2800 or so pounds , give or take I think it's closer to 44% front , 56% rear.

so, roughly speaking to get an ideal 50/50 setup you would either have to transfer 150 pounds from the rear to the front or add 300 pounds to the front(passengers will now get to ride up front with the spare). and if i remember right the spring rate up there is around 300#/" which would only make .5-1" difference. sounds good to me.
