Are they faster than an 88 Fiero GT?? I saw one today on the highway toady. First time I saw one in months. It was moving at at least 100mph. it just got me to wondering how fast they are.
Mine sure isn't! But you have to remember that most Delorean guys (myself excluded) have a whole lotta money to spend, it isn't uncommon to see a twin-turbo, aluminum 2.8 V-6 hiding in there or a northstar. That doesn't quite describe your everyday Delorean however. The Delorean is a Beautiful, elegant, swift, completely underpowered 80's Supercar. Mike

oooooo.... Deloreans! One of my favorite cars of all time! I'd even venture to say I like them a little better than fieros (definitely not performance wise).
oooooo.... Back to the Future! Some of my favorite movies ever!
Let me tell you one thing though, my four-cylinder fiero would give a Delorean a run for it's money.

i've owned 2 DeLorean's and 4 Fiero's. The Fiero's feel like they have more off the line, but in the upper RPM they feel very alike. The Delorean cruises on the Highway better than the Fiero, but overall the Fiero is much more bang for the buck! Top end wise I would say they are about the same. Gull-Wing doors sure are cool though! I will own a Delorean again some time, but for now Fiero's are much more fun per dollar.
Oh god, here come the back to the future jokes , j/k. I love my Delorean but in the end the Fiero will always own me. My Delorean is for sale if you guys are interested, it's really cool and has a low price ($10,500 for a 29,xxx mile D) check out my ad: http://www.classifieds2000.com/cgi-cls/ad.exe?P1+C14+A0+R1046048+Q352573234 Sorry for the shameful plug, Mike Schaefer http://surf.to/fiero

Someone said they were heavy? How heavy were they. And to you Delorean owners, was it true that all the stuff equipped in the doors would go for a crap alot? Also horsepower #'s for stockers?

Hmm, I don't think they are a lot heavier than a Fiero actually, but I don't know the numbers. The Y-frame might be a kinda heavy, but it is a great thing for a car to have. The only thing that goes bad on the doors is their struts usually. They need replacement about every two to three years and cost around $100-150 a set. I would rather worry about my Delorean's doors than my Fiero's headlights most days. I don't know the stock horsepower rating, but you have to realise that they are most definately not built for speed, and keeping up with a Fiero is about the best a stock might be able to do. Adding a turbo or twin turbo setup to a Delorean is really what you would want to do if you got one, wanted it to be fast, and had some money to invest. Mike

i read on back to the futures official website, that they may be making a part 4 in 2002, but Michael J fox wont be able to be in it, because he is getting very sick now.
If you could travel in time, you could finish the 1/4 before you ever started.

I'm not trying to insult Deloreans, I love 'em to. They must have an okay top end speed for the beginning of the 80's, hell it did hit at least 90 MPH in back to the future! Not good but not too bad either!
