Got this as a responce to a wet/dry nitrous question i asked him...

Hi Travis...

> I currently have a NOS nitrous kit #05120 on my car and have seen on the dyno how a "wet" kit is so much better.

That's an understatement, and the NOS' "wet" kit isn't any better, that's why they introduced the "new & improved dry kit"...LOL
The problem is their nozzle...it does NOT "atomize"! If the fuel is not atomized, it won't burn in the cylinder...I'm not making this up, it's the law of science. It puddles, catches fire, burns the oil off the cylinder walls, burns sparkplugs, pistons, exhaust valves...but it causes beautiful hood launches, blown off airboxes, and causes the prettiest flames out of the headers and exhaust <grin>
If you multiply NOS' ficticious "advertised" hp claim X .45, that's about real hp NOS actually makes.
>any information on Prcing and Part numbers would be great.. and your stock availability.

There are two ways you can go...a) sell the entire NOS kit to someone you don't like, race them with your new complete NX kit and take their money twice, because they won't believe what happened after the first race and will want to race again,

#20216 - GM/Fiero V-6 (50-75/hp, all jets included) complete with 10lb bottle (Upgrade 10lb bottle to 15lb bottle...add $60.00), nut/nipple, set steel hinged bottle brackets w/bolts, 16ft nitrous line, nitrous filter, set nitrous/fuel solenoids, set solenoid mounting brackets w/ screws, (2) 18" (1ea. red & blue) braided lines, (1) fuel rail connector line w/adapter, jets & jetting depending on the application, Shark Nozzle w/fittings (U.S. Patent# 5699776), air intake nozzle mounting bong, WOT throttle switch, lighted arming switch, 60 amp heavy duty anti-flyback relay w/wiring harness, misc. fittings & wiring for installation, set decals, & easy-to-follow complete installation instructions. This is a "wet" nitrous system (there's not a "dry" kit made that can run with an NX "wet" system), with no "retarded timing" (so the nitrous won't hurt parts and you have FULL engine power), and the fuel is taken off the fuel-rail at the "schrader valve", using your stock fuel pressure psi. This system doesn't require an extra fuel pump, nor is it necessary. Also, any "platinum plugs" will need to be changed...colder plugs are needed (NGK, Autolite, etc. is fine), about 2 steps...gap at .035.
Nitrous-oxide (N2O) is two parts nitrous and one part oxygen. It's an expansion gas (like freon), and as such, reacts to outside temperatures. We inject the nitrous-oxide and fuel (before the throttle body in fuel injection) by means of a "nozzle" (U.S. Patent# 5699776). The nitrous "shoots" through the fuel (gas or alcohol) at a ninety degree angle, and the mixture is atomized perfectly. The nitrous should be between 900psi & 1050psi and the fuel psi is stock application off the fuel rail at the "schrader valve". The atomized mixture is then "pulled" into the manifold by the engine's vacuum and sent to the cylinders. RESULT: 100% fuel burn in the cylinder with both valves closed. This results in a carbonless combustion chamber, almost pure white sparkplugs and a light powder-gray exhaust port and header. Your car will sound like the world's biggest turbo-charged engine. First couple of times the hair on your arms will stand straight out.
Horsepower is determined by the numbered jets and corresponding jetting pattern that comes with our nitrous systems. These jets have been tested with a digital flowbench for the correct nitrous/fuel mixture for your particular application, so there's no guessing which jets goes where and causes what hp. Now comes the controversial part...WE DO NOT REQUIRE "RETARDED TIMING" PERIOD!! "Retarded timing" overheats engines, causes extreme exhaust temps, causes your engine to "lay down" in high gear, gives a false sense of power because of overly increased cylinder pressure, burns the oil off the cylinder walls causing the rings to have a "hot foot", knocks the moly off the rings, causes crushed ring lands, burned pistons and burned sparkplugs, burned exhaust valves, etc. Result: You just sacrificed your engine because the "other" brand didn't make a nozzle that atomizes, so they had to make power some way...enter the "retarded timing" solution.
Then they introduced the "dry" system, their thinking was, if we don't atomize the fuel (you can not burn "raw fuel" in the cylinder...it catches
fire and goes out the exhaust, causing popping, backfiring, flames out of the headers and other assorted nasty things), then let's just eliminate the fuel through the nozzle and add it later (plus they can sell you another fuel pump that you don't need). Results of a "dry" system are intake manifold back-fires, blown airboxes, mufflers the size of garbage cans, false horsepower claims, & pre-loads and locks-up the fuel-injectors. I'm not trying to scare you, but without knowledge, you can not make an intelligent decision. So now you're asking yourself if the "other" brands make such an inferior product, why are they selling so many. The answer is "advertising & marketing", i.e. "McDonald's"...probably not your first choice for a *good* hamburger, but their name, logo, and advertising are everywhere. Our NX nitrous systems come with a "money back guarantee", if you're not satisfied with the performance and you followed OUR instructions. The "other" brands will not match this guarantee, nor will you get the same answer twice if you call them. This is where "tech" comes in, and our tech comes direct from me, John Stewart, a.k.a. "Mr. Nitrous"...over 21 yrs. in the nitrous industry. I hold the patents on all NX nozzles and the
"Gemini-Twin" plate)...the "retired" (as of 4/98) Founder, President, CEO and Engineer of Nitrous Express - Next Generation Technology. I'm now the Consulting Engineer for NX, own Nitrous Warehouse (NX's largest distributor for the last 3 yrs.) and "Mr. Nitrous" Racing.

Nitrous Warehouse price...$449.00....NX Racer $599.00 *IN STOCK*
Upgrade 10lb bottle to 15lb bottle (worth 2/10ths in the 1/4 mile)...add $60.00 *IN STOCK*
Upgrade 10lb bottle to 12lb "Carbon Fiber" bottle...$299.00. Weighs 7.5lbs empty...19.5lbs. full. *IN STOCK*

or b) NX has a "Dry to Wet Conversion Kit" to correct the lack of engineering in the NOS kit...your choice.

#NXTPI...includes a fuel rail adaptor, fuel connector, fuel solenoid, 2ft red s/s braided line, nozzle, jets, decals, & new instructions.
$289.00 *IN STOCK*

Either way there are some accessories you'll need to utilize the NX nitrous system to it's optimum performance and safety levels.

Gen-X Accessory Package consists of the following and are essential to run the system at optimum performance and safety levels:
Nitrous Warehouse price $260.00...NX retail $320.00 *IN STOCK*

1.Fully Automatic Bottle Heater:
Cold in nitrous-oxide's Kryptonite! The NX nitrous system is designed to run the bottle pressure between 900psi (87F degrees) and 1050psi (97F degrees) for optimum performance in conjunction with our jetting pattern which determines the true hp of the system. The heater automatically takes the bottle to 1050psi, then shuts off and comes back on when the psi drops to 900psi and below. This is controlled by a pressure transducer (included with the heater). Also provided is a heavy duty 60 amp straight relay w/wiring harness, manifold to connect transducer to the bottle, lighted red toggle to activate the heater, and the heater is 12.75" x 5.25", rated at 240 watts. Without the "Fully Automatic Bottle Heater", there is literally no way to insure the correct pressure....AND, NOT ONLY ARE YOU GIVING CAR LENGTHS AWAY, BUT...YOU WILL RAISE THE RING LANDS IF YOU TRY TO RUN THE NITROUS SYSTEM ON A COLD DAY OR NIGHT, WITHOUT THIS COMPONENT! EXAMPLE: WE HAVE TWIN CARS @13.0 ET...MINE HAS A NX BOTTLE HEATER & THE OTHER DOES NOT. ON A 97 DEGREE DAY/NIGHT...DEAD HEAT. 90 DEGREE DAY/NIGHT...1/2 A CAR. 80 DEGREE DAY/NIGHT...SIX CARS. 70 DEGREE DAYNIGHT...12 CARS. 60 DEGREE DAY/NIGHT...HE JUST RAISED THE RING LANDS, LUCKILY I CARRY A CELL PHONE, I'LL CALL A WRECKER!

2.Nitrous Flo-Thru Pressure Gauge:
This indicates the pressure of the bottle and has nothing to do with the volume. IF you have the Bottle Heater, then you don't have to have this, but it's nice to make sure everything is "ON" and working.

3.NHRA Blow-off package:
MUST have to run on any NHRA track, includes blow-off cap rated at 3000psi, blow-down tube w/fittings to vent bottle outside the car.

4.Fuel Pressure Cut-off Switch:
If there is ever a failure of the fuel delivery system (psi drops below the determined psi of the fuel-rail), this adjustable "safety switch" cuts off both (fuel & nitrous) solenoids.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More Accessories:

NEW! #15963 - "Digital Maximizer Controller" a.k.a."FRED" THE TRACTION MASTER! Variable Ratio Output Power Controller
$499.00...(NX retail $599.00) *IN STOCK*

The Fiero is a very light car, and with all this added power/torque, you may have traction problems. This allows you to "dial-in" the beginning hp percentage, delay, and ending hp percentage. Your car will go straight as an arrow down the track, plus you can make adjustments on the fly, according to the situation..track changes, tires, humidity, etc.
EXAMPLE: You put in the 100hp jets, but it's too much off the line. So, you choose the beginning percentage (20% to 80% of the 100hp setting), the delay time between the beginning and ending percentages, and the ending percentage of the hp setting...result, no more traction, tire, clutch (if you have a manual shift), drive-shaft, half-shaft, drive train or track problems, and if you do "get out of it", when you get back on the throttle, the computer starts over...not where you let off. We sell these to Prowler's, C-4's/C-5's Vettes, Viper's, BMW's, and anybody who has traction or drive train concerns. BTW..."F.R.E.D" and the NX single-stage system will outrun the NX dual-stage.

NEW! #11107 - Remote Bottle Opener...$199.00 (NX racer price $249.00) *IN STOCK* http://www.nitrouswarehouse.com/remote_bottle_opener.htm "SEMA 2000" PRODUCT OF THE YEAR! (This is like winning the "Hiesman Trophy")
Hit the rocker panel switch and the bottle automatically opens in 2 seconds! No more stopping the car, jumping out of the car, running to the back, opening the trunk, pulling up the cover, manually opening the bottle, pulling back the cover, closing the trunk, running back to the car, jumping back in the car, starting the car up again, and calming yourself enough to race...whew!!!

NEW! #15964 - "Digi-Set" Delay Timer...$108.00...NX retail $135.00 *IN STOCK*

Purge Kit: $89.00....NX retail $109.00 *IN STOCK*
On a scientific level: Purges gaseous nitrous from the line (especially on hot days, by dropping the bottle pressure if it's over 1050psi), assuring that the gaseous nitrous doesn't cause a "stumble" in the system when engaged.
On an EGO level: Announces to the world that you are READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!

Pro-Purge Kit: $279.00...NX retail...$349.00 *IN STOCK*
For you guys who really have an EGO! Shoots the nitrous 50ft. up in the air, 7ft around! Use this thing and everybody will get sick and go home. Anything that "snorts" like that, and sounds like a 403 elephant gun (not a 30-30) going off, nobody wants to mess with! <VBG> Doesn't use that much nitrous, but would definitely recommend using the 15lb. bottle with this one.

Fully Insulated Bottle Jacket, completely surrounds the bottle...NOT just a "blanket" cover! Helps keep the heat out on hot days, and on cold days keeps the bottle heater from constantly engaging.
10lb ....$103.20...retail $129.00 *IN STOCK*
15lb ....$115.20...retail $144.00 *IN STOCK*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrade 10lb bottle to 15lb bottle...$60.00 *IN STOCK*
Extra 10lb bottle...$168.00 (retail - $209.00) *IN STOCK*
Extra 15lb bottle...$216.00 (retail - $269.00) *IN STOCK*

12lb Carbon Fiber bottle...$499.00 *IN STOCK*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Booster: Available in "Pre-1995" & "1995 & up"...$11.99 *IN STOCK*
Provides up to 5% hp gains in normally aspirated applications, and up to 20% hp gains when used in conjuctions with NX nitrous systems. Contains a proprietary ingredient that enhances the power producing effect of nitrous-oxide. It contains no harmful ingredients, MMT, or MTBE, and is legal in all 50 states and Canada. Increases octane efficiency up to 20% in unleaded pump gas, allowing the unleaded street crowd to run much higher nitrous settings without the risk of detonation. A synthetic lubricant is released in every combustion cycle, lubricating cylinder walls, ring faces, and exhaust valve seats...reducing wear by 500%! Lower emissions, increased fuel economy, and fuel system cleaning are additional benefits from using this NX "Next Generation" product.
10oz. bottle treats 20 gal. using nitrous or 40 gal. without nitrous.

Sure...also tell them my 100hp makes 100hp and 200ft/lbs of TORQUE. You can use 100-150hp (if you have forged pistons...NO HYPERUTECTICS (sp?), too much silicone...can't handle the increased cylinder pressure. Even NOS doesn't like them for nitrous), but you'll need "F.R.E.D." to control the power.
We (NX) recently did a show for "Crank & Chrome", took 2 days and they were amazed we made the hp we said the NX nitrous system would make. They said, "We've never seen a nitrous kit make the power the manufacturer advertises. How do you do this?" We just smiled and asked them if they'd ever heard the term "engineering". Sorry, I don't have the "airtime" date.

Keep me posted,

John Stewart, "Mr. Nitrous"

That's some sweet info. After reading that I think I need to upgrade my NOS dry kit to their Wet system, but $289 sounds a little steep for what your getting. guess I'll just stick with what I have.

i'd love to do both but i KNOW the crank and the rods would fold! I'd like to have a real 100hp shot.. that would EASILY put me in the 12s! my 40shot was just KILLER! i can't imagine 60HP more!
