What would an 87 GT with unknown mileage be worth?
The paint looks like it was put on with a power Wagner electric paint gun
(I am exaggerating but it has sat for some time and is extremely dirty.)
It has an Automatic transmission. I don't know if the air works.
Body looks fair, some lower damage on the driver side.
The interior is tan and could be salvaged. The seats are gone and would need replaced.
The needle is missing on the Speedometer. He had to jump start it and it took 3 tries before it would crank. It seemed to idle high 2000. The seller claims to have recently replaced the engine if this is true it looks like he did a fair job, all of the connections look ok. I pushed up on the EGR and it started to stall and the tube looked ok. I had called him a week ago and the cash price was $1800 and when I stopped in today it was $2200. After we started it and looked at it awhile I brought some of the problems to his attention and he came down to $1500. I didn’t take it for a ride because it was blocked in by the other cars on the lot.

Walk, no run away from this one. If you want a parts car, give him $250. You can find better $1500-2000 87 GT almost anywhere.

It does have a nice fin on the back and new rubber all the way round, I was thinking of offering him $800 around the end of next month. It all depends on if I can get the seal replaced in my 85 or if I decide to replace the motor.

I think $1500 is a bit much with the details you described. I would walk from this one as well.
