Anyone ever experiment with the blue dots light covers, I think that is what they are called. Someone told me they are illegal. how do they work? any info?

Blue dots are blue lenses, about 3/4"-1" in diameter. They are normally mounted in the red taillight lens directly in line with the bulb. When the bulb is lighted, it shines through the blue and the red at the same time, resulting in a purple glow. A lot of police departments don't take too kindly to them. Many jurisdictions have laws regarding the use of blue lights on "civilian" vehicles, or some such thing. They sometimes are bright enough to be annoying.

But man do they look cool on a 34 Ford Coupe!

I can't see where they would fit in with the shape of a Fiero taillight at all though...

They are generally used on street rods.

Wouldn't be suprising to see a '55 Chevy with them too.
