I suppose it's the way I was brought up. "Always be prepared". I tend to take more than I need on road trips, like my rollerblades, fishing pole, tools, and especially clothes. I hate running out of clean clothes and having to do laundry towhere it cuts into my "fun" time. What compounds this storage problem is when someone comes along on the road trip as a passenger. Where do you put an icechest and camping gear if someone is in the passenger seat? This is my only car and I don't think I'll buy a truck for a couple of years.
I was thinking of getting a small motorcycle trailer to tug behind my car. I wouldn't have to tell my passenger, over thanksgiving it was my younger brother, to put his stuff in duffle bags so more things will fit in the car. I would like the hitch to hold one of those bike racks too. I haven't taken my bike anywhere since I bought this baby. Are the hitches for these cars ugly? Do they install and remove easily or are they hidden enough to leave on fulltime? Rather than sacraficing my preparedness with limited room, I figured my car can pull a small light weight cargo bin. Hey, if a motorcycle could pull it then so can my GT.
O.K. ---How's about a few opinions on the idea. Who tried this idea? Thanks for any of your input. whew, this was a long one.

Todd, there is a trailer hitch on Carolyn's car here at the shop but I will be removing it -- let me see how it's mounted and maybe we can work something out with you. I do know that this one extends through the rear fascia as there was a slot cut in the fascia for the hitch -- i'll keep ya posted (wanna trade for that steering wheel?

Ouch. I didn't even think about the facia getting in the way. It would have to be an awfully clean looking installation to consider, gulp*, cutting into my baby. The one shown on the Fiero Store web page mentions drilling holes in the cradle, but not cutting anything. Maybe it omitted that because it sounds bad or it's a different design. Hmmmm? It didn't surprize me that you guys had one, I wasn't going to "ass"ume" that for obvious reasons. As for this, I think I might hang on to it for now. Actually....?, yeah for now. he he
