if so have you notice a difference in any gains of power?

not one thats measureable on a dyno.. you will notice the cars idle change, and it'll warm up different. if you change the intake, and exhaust you'll notice a difference with a chip cause it changes the fuel curve and ign. timing to utilize the mods but on a stock car don't waste your money.. buy an MSD 6a or a Crane HI6s. you'll notice a larger improvement... or if you have an automatic it'll change the shift points. but not enough to matter.

yeah all the benefits of 6AL the milti-spark 20* and capacitave discharge after 3400rpm but no revlimiter and you'll save $50.

I robbed the MSD 6a and blaster 2 coil off my Suburban for the Fiero- Seemed to smooth out the idle a little and helped out a flat spot that happened just above idle. I think it was a worthwhile add on-especially since I already had it.

Stupid question but where can you get them. I hate buying things at the dealership here, but is that the only place I will find them? I too have a hypertech chip and noticed very little difference. I cant tell for sure if that smoothed out the idle or the new coil did, but I wouldnt pay the money for it again for a stock engine. It might come in useful for the new engine though.

I don't know about hypertech but I have a J.E.T. chip and it has boosted up the powerband in my fiero with a stock motor, gas goes quicker but what the hay.

I used the ADS, and the Hypertechs ones and saw MAYBE 4hp on the dyno... the MSD can be purchased at www.jegs.com www.summitracing.com and many local speed shops... about $120 and the Accel Super coil at the same places... for about $40...
