Wouldn't you know !!! After the festival I went right away to the book store to try and find some info on kit cars. I bought a copy of Kit Car Magazine. In this mag I had found the email address for ASPP. I emailed them several time with no response. Today I got a info pack from them in the mail...Ye Haw !!! They actually have the kit on sale at this time $1000 off. I don't have the money at this time but I will be ordering a assembly manuel ($20 refundable) I will be building one of these kits...it's just a matter of time. (Oh and money...lol)
If anyone else is interested the address is:
Auto Sport Performance Products 740 West Main Street Superior, AZ 85273
(520)689-0100
The kit is on sale for $5998 (regular $6998) with approx $700 in optional items.
How does this compare with the cost of other kit bodies ? Anyone know ? Archies ? Pisa ?
I have a PISA Artero KIT for sale ... $3500 OBO. PISA sells it now for $5000 (but you get a dash and some other things with that $5000 cost.)
From PISA's web site:
Also, take a good look at the wheelwells of the GT40 kit ... you will find you can NOT lower the car enough to make the wheelwells looks good with the tires/wheels.
RCC has been approached several times for products to lower the car enough so that this kit would look right but to get the kit low enough, you end up with about 2" of clearance under the car ... i.e. undriveable.

I don't mean to insult or belittle anyone, but that GT40 kit on a Fiero body is just awful. I've seen an original road going version of the GT40 (Valkyrie GT), and even in desperate need of restoration it was still very beautiful. In my opinion, a GT40 replica is not suited to a stock fiero space frame. For starters, the Fiero is six and half inches too tall. The frame would still have to be stretched to make room for a longitudinal 427... which is really the only engine to put in a GT40 replica. Check out www.supercars.net for a few pictures of original GT40's.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it done right; but the one in the picture is just not done right.
BTW, the logo on the back of the "Louisville GT40" says "Suspension by RCC Specialty"

Will, I'm not really looking for originality. I just like the look. There has always been some folks who look down thier noses at any kit or replicar. No matter how close a copy it is. I can just see myself cruising down Clairmont Ave. and having everyone rubbernecking to get a look at my Ford GT40. (Just entered the dream state...lol) The vast majority of folks out would have no clue as to how close a copy it is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
Buy the way that is a awesome website !!! Thanks
Oh Yeah, the first Ford GT40's came with a 289cid small bock.

I recommended supercars.net for its pictures, not its information
I don't look down on all kit cars. I try to judge each on its own merits. I think that the proportioning of Fiero based Countaches is better than the originals. I think that the Fiero based GT40 is fine as a Fiero rebody, but a GT40 it isn't precisely because fo the aforementioned proportioning. Kind of like the Mera vs. the Ferrari 308, except the Mera actually looked very much like the 308.
MkI & III GT40's had 289's, but the MkII's & IV's had 427's.
