how much quicker is the stick tranny compared to the automatic?

Depends on how fast you can shift the manual transmission. Usually automatics don't let you go to redline unless you do manual shifting of the automatic. The 5 speed has more gears to go through than the 3 speed automatic, but that is sort of irrelevent since 4th and 5th are overdrives.
I can reach ~60 in 2nd, ~90 in 3rd with the 5 speed. The rev limiter cuts in at about 60 in 2nd. With the manual you can lunch at higher rpms. Skill come into play.

the 4.10 4 speed will get you down the 1/4 mile faster than any other. bu top speed would be limited to arout 100-110 mph. while my friends 88 GT and anoter friends 87 GT where both automatics and a good race for my 84 SE until around 100-110 when they just kept going faster but they both toped out at 120 & 125 respectfull.
