Well...
Several weeks ago Lambo started a thread in the mall about a wrecked Formula in Tennessee. (Thanks for the tip, man!)
After a couple of e-mails and phone calls with the owner, I went and picked it up, last weekend.
This was truly an experience, as I have never towed a trailer of any size, before. Was a lot of fun pulling 4900 pounds of trailer and Fiero up a steep gravel hill.
Was even more fun backing down the same hill, and getting a running start (don't forget the 4900 pound "package", now bouncing wildly) so that I didn't get stuck, again.
On the way home, every time I looked in the rearview mirror, I nearly jumped out of my skin... "Jeez, that fool sure is following close! ...Oh."

Anyway... The drivetrain will be removed and transplanted into my 88 coupe (in a blatant attempt to plagiarize Fiero 64) , as well as the power windows and other miscellaneous goodies. I expect that this will take some time, as I have a couple of other (non-Fiero-related) projects in the works, and limited time available.
I will attempt to document the swap with lots of pics (if anyone is interested), since "Duck-to-V-6 swaps" seem to be a fairly common question on the forum.
This will be a learning experience for me. Hopefully someone else will find this info useful.

Donor and recipient.

Another view.

Final resting place.

Not sure what's gonna be left over, as the donor is "tweaked" all the way back to the B-pillar. From the looks of the car, that dirt bank didn't budge. Not one little bit.
If I have any parts to sell, I'll post them in the mall.

Good luck Raydar, If you have any questions just ask and I will try to help. The fun part will be the fuel pump . Since you are going from 88 to 88 use the whole tank from the Formula.

Fiero64,
Thanks for the offer. I'm sure I will probably will take you up on it. This is going to be a big learning experience for me. The only project of this magnitude that I've ever done was stuffing a 350 in a Monza (with a little help from my friends). And that was a while back. (Not gonna say how many years.)

I do have one question, already. Did you keep your "Duke" compressor, or did you swap in the one from the V-6? If you kept the old one, I'm assuming (there's that word) you had to swap pulleys/clutches. Other than the hoses, I suspect that the rest of the AC system is the same. Right?
TIA.

Good question. I didn't have ac in ether car. I think you can keep the old one so you don't have to empty the system. It should bolt right on the bracket. The pulleys should be the same because they both have serpentine belts.

Hey Raydar, glad I could help. I'm just glad to see someone from the forum get this car. I was wondering what had happened with it. Good luck in your transplant. I just finished mine this weekend. Fired her up last night as a matter of fact. Sounded real good, just gotta put the hood back on and take her for some small rides to see if there are any bugs.

The formula uses a DA-6 compressor which has a v-belt. I believe the coupe has a different compressor (V-5 I believe) that uses a serpentine belt.

The two compressors have completely different mounts and hose assemblies. I don't believe the 4cyl a/c bracket will bolt up to the v-6 nor will the compressors fit each other's brackets. I could be wrong, but the diagram and part numbers in the 22P manual indicate this.

FOCOA did a pretty good article some time back on putting a v-6 into a 4 cyl car.
