There are so many dedicated and knowledgeable craftsmen among the "Fiero-istas", I thought it would be intersesting to get input from other not so talented on what they would like to see developed for their Fieros. We appreciate foristance the long awaited hood scoops from George @ The Fiero Shop. Or the dedication over the years of V-8 Archie and his insight.
I would like to see information on a low weight high perforamnce cradle. Perhaps if enough of us add our 'wish list' a thread will begin. Who knows, the talentd among us may develope more products for us. Anybody??

Sounds nice, but the problem is that most of the "talent" have other jobs and can only devote a little bit of time to R&D-ing new mods. I'll use Tom as an example (sorry Tom ). He has a site full of neat aftermarket gizmos (some of which will find their way to my car one of these days). Only problem is that he has at least one other (is it two??) full time job. I think I know of a couple new mods he's working on (just reading between the lines--I don't know for sure) but I would imagine it'll be a while before even those are done. Not trying to discourage you, though.

i mentioned once before i wish someone could work up some of those adapters that let you set rear coil over (if you change to them ) struts inboard further so you can use wider wheels. to see what i'm talking about look for hot rod oct. 87.
i'd also like to have a more interesting front facia but i've given up on that and have started working on modifying a ( or destroying a perfectly good ) gt front facia.
also, i don't know if engine swaps could be made easier or cheaper but if so that would be good.
well one more thing. if i could do an engine change i'd love to have a stronger manual tranny than whats available.
it just occured to me why santa threw me off his lap and ran off screaming.

The fact is, there really isn't a great demand for custom Fiero parts. Big-time manufacturers just aren't interested in producing this stuff, so it's up to us enthusiasts to design and market the parts. I can fabricate most of the parts I need for myself, but I have a full time job and therefore not much time produce parts for others. That's the way it is for a lot of us. I wouldn't count on too many new Fiero products hitting the market, except in very limited production. You know if we all drove late model Hondas, we'd have no trouble finding the performance parts we need.
I would like to see a drop pan modifacation of the floorpan to add 1 to 2 inches more headroom for us taller guys. I would like to see a radio volume controll for the steering wheel.

Pontiaddict, Now that's a good idea! Hey, since you live in Michigan, why don't you go down to that old GM stockyard and see if you can get one of the prototypes out of there without anyone noticing! Now that would be cool!

Talking from experience where I helped introduce a whole 2 products to the Fiero world I unfortuantely must say that I will not do it again. There are a lot of unrealistic people that do nothing but find fault with your product and if there is no fault than rumors start up from some other company. I also found that some fiero owners want a lot for their car but are not prepared to pay the price. Then you got the fiero owners that keep going back to companies that sell garbage. They get into a foul mood and take out their frustrations on anyone that dares to tell them they have been had. Don't forget the car shows. Quite the soap opera. Unless you go with immediate friends that have done favours for you and vice versa anyone else is your ARCH enemy. Show the smile give compliments and when you leave have a snide remark. "My pinto had better seats" or something on that line. As far as what I want for my Fiero I pretty much got everything I need. The car is finished so I'll either sell it or keep it and put my fangs into a Viper.
okay rockcrawl, I unbolted all of my body panels and was going to drive down there and put the panels off the 89 on mine. Unfortunately, GM must have my house bugged because I think they were the ones that had the cops stop me 3 blocks from my house.
(cop)"Do you know why I pulled you over?" (me)"No officer, was I speeding?"
*insert fake sitcom laughter here* I know GM would never liscense the design to anyone, just wishfull thinking.
Sillhouette I feel sorry for you. Part of the problem is that people don't know what it takes to design, and produce an item. Another thing is that Fieros can be bought cheaply and the price of something new doesn't seem right compared to what they originally paid for their car. If people don't like it, tell them to get screwed. (not a good business practice though)

Here at the Fiero Shop we are going to produce the hood scoops of George's (really we are!!) just as soon as we finish the move from the old shop to the new one. And, we will have our own bump-steer kit for the '84 - '87 as well as brake upgrade kits, an aluminum flywheel and kevlar clutch kits, and I am playing with an idea for a front wheel/front fender air vent to aid in brake cooling. -- Unfortunately, even though these are in the works the projects have been slowed down considerably due to the move and the increasing number of 3.4 swaps we are doing.
That aluminum flywheel will be the first hot-rod item I will buy when I rebuild my spare V6!! I have been trying to find lightweight flywheels for the 2.8, but had no luck! You better produce this, or else!

What I would like to see is something that would benefit a lot of us. Past threads indicate there are a lot of people that have continuous problems with the bleeding of the clutch slave and master. How about a tool or inexpensive piece of equipment that would make this frustrating task easy and foolproof....

I know this will never happen but I wish someone would make replacement seals and clips and parts for T tops. I know you can get t tops in some places but a FULL line and manufactured replacments would be my Biggest Dream ever for what I would wish for
Something else has put a burr in my saddle on what I would like to see. How about a thoughtfully designed slightly. and I mean SLIGHTLY modified lip extensions, maybe a half inch or less, to accomodate larger wheels.Somethjong too large like an IMSA type kit is too large. Do body men exist that can do such a project using the Fiero plastic?

Ditto what Robert Vol said!!! No one manufactures replacement T-top weatherstrips. Robert, I think Tom is doing A and B pillar caps. My7... You can have 'em. I'll take Anne Heche(sp?), since she's apparently rethought that whole "coming out" thing. (I never did really buy into that one, anyway.)
