Hey, I was wondering how to remove the trunk carpet on my '86 GT. I want to do this to make it easier to run the wire for DXR_DAD's back-up light mod. How can I do this? Thanks.

there are 2.25" grey plastic "buttons" in the trunk.. grab 2 sides of them and pull really quick. they'll pop out of their holes.. once those are out i think theres 4 or 5.. 3 on the front (near the engine) and 2 in the tail light area. then pull the light out of its place in the center of the carpet.. unplug the light and lift the carpet up...

If you don't want to break those grey tree clip/washer thingys, then try using a claw hammer or something similar to grab around the tree and not break it. After you get those out, just start with a corner and pull, it should come right out.

Even with a tool they are likely to break as not.
