I just got a nice set of used seat covers (stock GT) thanks to a fourm member. What is the best way to clean? Can I just send them to a dry cleaners, Put them in the washer, or can I take just the covers to a detail shop before I install them?

THANKS

Mr. Mike knows how to wash them. I guess if you e-mail him he'll send you the instructions. I got a good used seat cover that needs washing so I'll e-mail him and post the intructions here.

Glad you liked the covers. I cleaned them last spring. I used a portable steam cleaner called "The little green machine" It did an "OK" job but I hear Dirt Devil has a small one out that has rotating brushes which should do a better job. The another way is to buy some upolstery spray cleaner and a auto parts place and use damp soft brush to scrub them.

Thanks Oreif, those covers were in darn good shape. I think I'll just try to wash them. I thought about getting a little green machine I saw then on sale at K-Mart some time ago.

DXR_DAD, I just got a reply from Mr.Mike. You just wash the covers with Tide and hot water. He didn't say but I would guess on gentle cycle. Then hang dry....putting them in the dryer will ruin the foam. Good luck.

Thanks ggarsk, I'm on it as we speak, they should be on the spin cycle. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Once again, I just say thanks to everyone enough everyone on this fourm has been a big help to me and my little black plastic toy!!

Oreif, thanks again for a nice set of covers at a nice price too!!!

THEY LOOK NEW!! like a new born babies butt,
I soaked them in stain remover, spray and wash, used a brush to scrub a bit, let them soak in the tub, then put them in the washer.
I did put them in the dryer (air no heat).

Thanks

Oreif, I got the covers on the seats. Thanks for the tape it helped alot. My passenger side was in excellent shape, so it was the driver side that needed the recover. I did use the bottom cover from yours on my passenger side. The rain just started so I"ll just leave them in the living room, The look good in there anyway and spray them with some scotch guard.

ggarsk, did you get to yours yet? now I need to clean the carpet I will have pics soon

thanks guys!!!

DXR_DAD, Glad everything worked out for you.
Just in case you decide to go to leather, you can save the old emblems if you want to transfer them to the leather seats. I just had mine embriodered with the logo.
