Here are the pics and any identifying serial #'s on there. Let me know guys as I have a guy interested off of the Forum, but I wanted to be sure it was indeed an 07. I was told that when I picked it up, but I wanted to give the buyer peace of mind.

Thanks!

If it was a zero mile unit and you paid less than $1K for it, it most likely is an 06 model. GM liquidated all the 06 models since they could not use them in the 07+ cars, so they are dirt cheap. The 07+ models are still in use by GM and have not been liquidated by GM, so there are very few zero mile units out there selling for less GM dealer cost (about $1600).

AIUI, 6th is .62 in '06 and .71 in '07. FD in both years was 3.55.

I thought 06 and 07 were the same but I could be wrong. I know I have an 06 and the markings on my trans are the same as on yours.

Any identifier on the outside of the transmission that says what ratios are in it will be a sticker. The casting numbers will not identify the ratios.

Like was already said, it's almost certainly an 06 (MT2) trans. And unless there's a sticker that lists which RPO code it is (or the serial number, so you can look it up through GM), you'll have to pull it apart, or measure the input and output speed to check the ratio, and determine if it's an -06, or 07+ trans.

Without the RPO, there's no simple way of looking at the F40 and telling what year it is. But given that condition, and if it was $1000 or less, I'd say it's an 06.

I don't think anyone's said it's most likely an '06... people have just made speculations about the purchase price.

As I stated, he can check the ratios.
I suggested this because it's easy and does *NOT* require disassembling the transmission.
