I was wondering if anyone had any close up pics of how they mounted the AC bracket on an '84-'87. I just need some visualization because as you can see from my pic, it looks to me that while the holes do line up, I'd need to use really long studs to cover the gap. I've considered using Rodney's '88 bracket, but not sure what other hardware I would need. Also curious to see what I can do about that third hole on the mount bracket. I know a lot of people say they only used two bolts to hold the mount, but I'm not really comfortable with that. Being able to use a third bolt will allow for added strength and stability in case I decide to get crazy with modding this thing. I tend to way over engineer everything and that's the way I like it.

It works fine.

Don't worry about only useing two bolts, as it is just a shock mount and being a "shock" it doesnt take much abuse like a standard mount and I don't think any one has ever broken one, I haven't and mine is boosted.

Like mentioned above, the driveline shock absorber isn't a structural component. It's a vibration absorber, like the steering damper.

That said, I cheated when I installed my 3.4 V6. Instead of cutting threads in the one bolt hole, I just stuck a bolt in from the backside. When the bracket is installed, that bolt is trapped between the bracket and the engine block.
