I feel like an idiot. In my engine dress-up / tune up winter project one of the plastic vacuum lines coming off of my egr solenoid shattered in my hand so the decision was made to make a new set of lines out of aluminum tubing. I figured if I was going to do it I was going to change the routing of it a bit as well to clean things up if I could.

I tried searching, but came up empty.

In my haste I did not take note of where each of the lines went from the egr solenoid. I know one line goes to the valve itself, and one line goes to one of the ports on the throttle body. There's a top and bottom port on the egr solenoid, can anyone tell me which one connects where? Does the EGR valve connect to the top or bottom port on the solenoid?

I've seen diagrams of the vacuum lines but they just show the egr solenoid as a square with 2 lines on it and I can't find a label on it that says in or out. I'm not even sure it matters, but wanted to ask before I zip-tie everything tight.

I didn't get to start it up this weekend like I had hoped, but I'm a lot closer than I was before the weekend. Now I just need to install the MAP sensor, air intake, battery and to finish the spark plug wires :-)

Thanks in advance for any help. I couldn't have even attempted what I have done so far without this forum.

Check for a sticker on the underside of your decklid.

Damn it I have that photo downloaded and didn't even think of it, I feel even dumber now. I think I was flustered from working on the car so long over the weekend and messing with these lines so much trying to get them routed and fitting right. I was searching for things along the lines of "egr solenoid vacuum lines" instead of just vacuum lines.

I saw the sticker on my deck lid but it was just a box with the lines going in side by and didn't show which line the vac sensor was attached to, just that it was going into the solenoid, thus my confusion.

That photo will allow me to sort it out, I can tell which line the sensor is attached to on the solenoid and that shows me that line runs to the egr valve. The other runs to the throttle body. I just wanted to be sure not to screw something so simple up.

I've deleted the hard lines on the trunk wall, they're getting re-routed so they don't cross over the valve cover.

Thanks for the clarification.

(I'm walking away from the computer in shame for not figuring it out myself)

Hey, man, when you get flustered it's good to call in an outsider. See! It helped find a resolution.
