So one day I noticed a kind of rattle whenever I hit bumps, thought it was a interior panel actually... Rattles turned to big Clunks. So I was thinking sway bar link, or ball joint.. No! My front drivers side control arm rear bracket snapped in half!!! the control arm is fine but, the bracket closer to the rear of the car snapped clear through! The weird thing? I haven't hit a pot hole in ages and don't take dirt roads. Here's some pictures... So is this a part? or do I have to cut one off a junk Fiero? looked welded to the frame.

That part is spot welded to the frame rail, about 10 or 11 if I remember correct. I would imagine the welds along the vertical surface behind the control arm are non-existent. You could cut one out and remove the spotwelds, then weld it back in.

Alright that's what I was thinking but good to know, so off to the junkyard I guess unless anyone has one cut off for me?

If it was my car, that's what I would do.

I suspect that bracket could be welded up plenty strong, and it would be a whole lot easier than replacing it!

Okay I feel better about it now, my main fear is that having it welded would disqualify my car from track days, due to a failed inspection. Anyone know if having it welded would make it fail the inspection?

The inspectors never noticed the crack, so apparently they don't look there. Weld it.
