Hi Guys,
I'm in the process of doing a 3.4L PR swap and came across this broken piece.

I'm trying to stay with in budget and really don't want to but a whole solenoid just for this one little tube. Has anyone else run across this problem and can suggest a fix? Is this little tube even necessary?

another pic....

here is a little pic of the 3.4L PR as it sits....can't wait to get it in..

You could use a small peice of rubber tubing to join it back together. You could go to a pick n pull and try to find one that's not broken, or a longer one from another vehicle that has bends in it that would work then cut it to fit. Maybe a peice of heatshrink tubing to join the broken halves back together. There are lots of things you could do, even replacing it with one peice of rubber vacuum line might work.

Like KHw said... just use a piece of rubber tubing. I had that same piece break many years ago, and there's just a simple piece of tube on there now.

Yeah just get a piece of small rubber tubing and attach it to the good part of the connector thingy and the other side to the plastic tube. Then use very small zip-ties and zip both connecting points together. It'll hold up.

I like to use silicone tubes for model aircraft engines as it holds up to heat and chemicals like methanol and nitromethane. You can get it at most hobby shops and in many sizes.
The plastic tubes deteriorate and break over time and you can only get originals off junkers or the dealers...

Mercedes uses that plastic tubing for everything and just 1/2" bits of rubber tubing for the connections. My newest one is a 76, and I spent 2 days replacing 100 yards of the stuff. It just shattered if you moved it.
