Sorry to be a PITA, but can somebody please post a photo of a throwout bearing properly installed?

I have an 87 Getrag 5spd. Something's not right. I'd really appreciate it...thank you in advance.

I don't have any photos available, but can explain it. The throwout bearing has two sets of tabs, flat ones near the front, and rounded ones near the back. The fingers of the clutch fork need to go between those two tabs.

Thank you. That makes sense. Is it possible to instal the bearing backwards? Rounded tabs towards the front?

I don't think so.
It will be readily apparent that it's not right.
The bearing surface that rotates must face the clutch disk
The clutch rod fingers must be located within the TOB tabs

From what I've heard a getrag 5 speed even with a new bearing in a can make noise. Just be prepared for that even if it is installed correct. Sometimes it is the input shaft. I've been told some just make noise its actually not a problem.

I appreciate the help. Problem mine is having is that since a clutch replacement, the clutch pedal won't go all the way to the floor. But the trans is shifting normally. We're trying to figure out what's different. Hydraulics weren't replaced, just unbolted and pushed aside. Resurfaced the flywheel and installed same Sach part # clutch kit as what we took out. Mystery to me.

If the T/O bearing were installed backward, there would be a terrible noise when the engine is running, because the fingers on the pressure plate would be grinding against the backside of the T/O bearing.

When you say the clutch pedal doesn't go to the floor, do you mean something physically stops it from moving? Or are you saying that you don't need to push it to the floor to change gears?

Thanks Blacktree. There's no grinding or scraping noises so thankfully the bearing must be in the correct position. What I mean by the pedal will not go to the foor is...when I depress the clutch pedal, the pedal physically reaches the end of its travel approx. 1 1/2-2" above the carpet.
Previously, the pedal could travel until it hit the floorboard. Over the years, this is the 3rd clutch installed in the car but the 1st time pedal's travel bottoms out before resting on the floor. There's even a wear mark in the carpet where it used to touch.
I can still shift smoothly and I can shift with out depressing the pedal as far as it will go. It's just that I'm afraid that if I leave it like this, over timeI'm gonna damage something else. Same slave cyl and rod just reinstalled. Something has got to be offline.
