Just curious about the numbers. Who has the highest mileage Fiero? (I saw one thread with 300,000) What year? Rebuilt? Also, how long have you owned a Fiero? I've owned our 1985 SE V6 4 speed since it was new (May 1985) 110,000 miles, never rebuilt, never drive in the snow. Now I've aquired an 88 GT to go with it. This could be fun.

84 SC...257k miles...I've had it for almost 4 years now. It was converted to a convertible in 1995. On at least it's third engine (I swapped it once...and it was clear that it wasn't the original when I got it). At least the second tranny (was originally a manual...someone converted it to an auto). Second interior (I swapped it for an SE interior). Everything else seems original. It's my daily driver if there is any chance of it not raining.

There is an 87 coupe (Rick Mahoney) out there that has over 500,000 miles on it.
My 87 GT, which I bought new, has 142,000 now. My 88 GT bought in 1996 with 54,000, now has 1bout 143,000 miles but has had an engine trans plant at 74,000.

I ordered my 87 GT in the fall of 86. It has given me 86.000 trouble free miles. I did an engine swap 3 years ago. Because of a bad new cam from Howards, the 400 had a very short life. Last year I built a new 427 Dart block with Profiler heads put on a new Spec clutch, made new headers and buttoned it up. This winter I pulled the cradle to fix a persistant oil pan leak. Careless mistake I made welding up a road racing pan. I cleaned up wiring and cleaned and painted the frame and cradle. Looks a lot better but still a ways to go.

87 GT. Bought at 59,000 and currently have 79,000. Owned her for 10 years. About 16,000 on complete rebuild of engine, suspension, and brakes. I love these cars!
86 GT. Getrag. 283,000 miles. It's been at that for a while now as I don't get the time drive it often. Have owned for four years. Fourth Fiero. From records I know original engine and trans. Third clutch I believe. I know the ownership for the past two owners, but not much before that. Very minor engine and visual mods. Usually a constant fight of fixing little things that go wrong with it. Driven rain, sleet, snow, ice - whatever gets thrown at it.

Drove my 88 Coupe for 12 years and 100,000 miles. It had 187,000. Replaced the transmission because the snout the throw out bearing travels on broke. Did head gasket several years ago.
My recent purchase is an 87 with 201,000 miles. has a 3800SC.

'84 SE 4 speed; ordered Sep '83; rec'd May '84; Now has 361,000km (224,300 miles); warranty engine replacement @ 102,000km otherwise normal maintenance; still on original clutch; 2 accidents - written off by insurance co. for minor panel damage & put back on the road with money to spare. Daily driver except in wet salty conditions. Purchase & maintenance over 29 years <$0.07 per km.
'88 Formula 5 speed; purchased Mar 2008 with 5,200km (3,200 miles) from original owner who bought it new for a new baby boy who grew up & asked for the Mustang convertible instead (go figure!) Showroom condition - only battery & heater core had been replaced. Still on original tires - now has 21,000km (13,000 miles). Usually driven a couple of times a week except in wet salty conditions.
'86 coupe 2.5L 5 speed; purchased Feb 2011 with 107,000km (66,500 miles) for a spare in case the '84 falls down & dies. Now has 117,000 (72,000 miles) - alternates with '84 as daily driver except in wet salty conditions. Suffers from engine death rattle but hasn't stopped yet. Anticpated catastrophic failure will hopefully occur in the driveway...
'87 2.5L 5 speed purchased Nov 2011 with 90,000km ((55,900 miles) mainly for the engine to be swapped into the '86 with the death rattle. Parts sold & used so far in the other three have recovered the $500 delivered cost.
Ownership preference is factory original 5 speed notchies, but have great admiration for the customizers' talents!

Looks like you and your 84 are the longest. I didn't discover this Forum until a couple of years ago. I never realized there were so many of us keeping/collecting these cars. I just kept ours because it was fun to drive! I've learned a lot from this Forum, and we're looking forward to the 30th Anniversary at Indy, too. I heard an award would be given for the person who drove the furthest to Indy. They should also give an award for the most mileage on a Fiero and length of ownership. Just for fun.
85 GT bought off showroom in CA $12.5 K. Original paint (fair) original starter and ORIGINAl coolant hoses (true). Original starter never out. 4 speed lost 4th synchro and replaced with Getrag. Heads never off. Daughter had it on Chicago streets 3 winters. Train hauled back to LA. 134K. Why do I keep it? There's just something about the little red devil...
Others 67 Lotus Ealn, 67 Lotus Cortina, Triumph TR-4, X-11, Vega, 86 and 88 Fieros, Audi 5000T, Audi 87 GT,Nissan NX2000 (3), C 63 AMG (wife's). So it has survived in the garage while others have gone. Weird , huh?

I had a 1985 Fiero GT 4-Speed that had 168 thousand miles on it. I sold it with that on it, and the new owner drove it up to Ohio from South Florida and continued to drive it for a few more years. He had a catastrophic drive-line failure (snapped both half-shafts during a huge burnout with the 4-Speed) when the car had 183k miles on it. The engine was still good, but he e-mailed me telling me that it was "done."
This is a picture of it back in 1999 at my apartment in Fort Lauderdale:
