I'm thinking about upgrading the injectors in my stock 2.8, I tried searching to see if there was a thread about this. Has anyone upgraded their 15lb/hr injectors to 17lb/hr injectors?

It will likely cause a stock engine to run riich. Just have your stock injectors cleaned and flow matched. Amazing what improvement that makes. Cheaper, too.

Agreed.................
The real threat to HP is the intake neck not injectors.
The stock units will supply more than enough fuel for any given RPM.
Fuel pressure can be modified too if you seem to be a bit lean but I doubt it.
Clean and match is the way to go for a stock 2.8

I suggest you save your money.

Contrary to a popular misconception, perhaps promulgated by some misleading advertising suggesting something to the contrary, going to 17lb/hr injectors with what you've stated is your "stock 2.8" engine is not an "upgrade"; it's a waste of money.

Why?

Larger than stock injectors (e.g., 17lb/hr instead of stock 15lb/hr) on your stock 2.8 will not create additional horsepower. They simply will permit it

Maybe an analogy will help explain that subtle distinction: An expensive NASA space suit will permit one to walk on the moon, but simply donning that expensive NASA space suit, by itself, won't create for you an arrival on the moon. Donning that expensive NASA space suit, by itself, will not magically transport you to the moon --- any more so than installing 17lb/hr injectors by itself somehow will magically transport your Fiero's engine to a higher level of horsepower.

In summary, going to 17lb/hr injectors with what you've stated is your "stock 2.8" engine, despite all the advertising that may suggest otherwise, is not an "upgrade"; it's simply a waste of money.

By the way, jmarnett11, welcome to Pennock's Fiero Forum.

Yes, Welcome. Tell us where you are. Put it in your profile. Makes it much easier to get help from people who are close by when you really really need it. Also, we need PICS of your ride. Download Pennocks Image Poster at the bottom of the page so your pictures don't disappear over time. Nothing like posting a picture of What's This or Where Does This Go, or Is This Broke and have it disappear before you get an answer.

I often see the ignorant treating injectors as if they were carbs - bigger jets are not the same as bigger injectors. I've also seen people totallyu screwing their slow running/idle when they went so big that even at minimum opening period the injectors were drowing the plugs.

I would only swap in larger injectors if you're planning on increasing the size of your engine.

I bored and stroked mine out to 3.2 liters, and went with the 17-lb/hr Accel pintle style ones and they worked quite well; however, I PROBABLY could have gotten away with keeping the 15 pound ones and just increasing the fuel pressure.
