I'm ready to start putting my 2007 HD auto trans on my 2007 NA Buick allure series 3, 3800. But I need to find information on what bolts I need to re attach everything, buying from the auto wreckers means I get the parts but not the bolts. I have searched online with no success, does anyone have a parts catalogue or know how I can find this information? There are so many fiero manuals online in PDF formate it would be great to find this for the 3800 series 3.
Any help I'd appreciated.

Best source for auto bolts is at the junkyards. The bolts that hold the 3800 engine to the transmission are 12mm . The flexplate bolts and flywheel bolts are 10mm. Not sure about the pitch or grade but they are high strength grade

Stock 3800 Series 2 and 3 flywheel/flexplate to crankshaft bolts are 1/4-20 SAE thread, grade L9 or equiv hardness bolts. I recommend just ordering the new bolts from GM for your application (auto trans flexplate or manual trans flywheel). These particular bolts CANNOT be reused. They must be replaced upon removal.

The best thing to do here is for you to just tell us what bolts you need (ie: lower intake manifold to cylidner head) and I'm sure someone will be able to answer that. But, unfortunately, even the GM service manual doesn't give us a complete list of what bolts are needed where in this engine.

A 1/4-20 bolt is only 1/4" in diameter. . Please correct me if I am wrong but 1/4-20 is a mighty small bolt for flywheel /flexplate engine crank to trans connection use. You could be correct but it doesn't sound right to me.

You are absolutely right. The 3800 uses 5/16-18 SAE threaded bolts for the flywheel to crank mounting. Not 1/4-20 as I mentioned earlier. Sorry, long day in the shop.

The 3800 Series 2 is one of those instances where GM saw fit to use metric threaded bolts in some areas (like where the mounts and assy brackets attached to the block and head) and then used SAE (english) threads for manifold to cylinder head mounting and other areas.

Looks like I will order them from GM, for anything else I will post the part and maybe pics showing where it's suppose to go.
I was hoping there might have been a GM service manual on the series 3 out there.
Cheers

if you need torque specs, you can find them here. I believe it tells you what size bolts are used as well:

http://www.torkspec.com/tor...?KI=12-3.8L-231ci-V6

Actually it doesn't have the bolt sizes as well, I just checked. Sorry
