all the kits i find are for putting a v8 in my car with the stock trans. will the same kit work with a 4t60 4speed or is that a different kit altogether?

Yes.

Most kits do not supply the transmission mounts, so you would need to source those on your own. There are several 4T60 swap threads that cover what mounts to use.
Also if the kit shifts the transmission to the driver side (original Zumalt style), then you will also need axles.
