well my flywheel has some broken teeth and wont start if the starter get to the spot with the broken teeth. what are my options as far as getting it fixed?

Like mentioned above, a flywheel for an '88 Fiero V6 will fit. The flywheel, IMO, is one of the parts that's easier to replace than rebuild. That's assuming you have a stock style flywheel.
The rings are really easy to replace if you can get one. Just heat the ring and tap it off with a hammer/punch. Install the new one by freezing the flywheel, and gently heating the ring (oven, 250F), then tap the new one on.
The hard part is getting the flywheel in your hands. I don't know the tools you have (lift etc) but I have always found it easier to drop the cradle to seperate the engine/trans.
i went ahead and already bought a new flywheel because i didn't want to deal with the ring gear. and yes i already have the cradle out of the car just need the know the torque specs
